On 11/4/2021 a field representative (Vicki Bird of the Los Angeles Region) for the U.S. Census Bureau went down my private dirt driveway, parked next to my no trespassing sign, knocked on the front door, left an envelope, went back to her car and sat in my driveway for ten minutes. I am a single mom and live in a rural area. We have had numerous safety concerns lately and do not want strangers trespassing on our property. I was not informed she was coming prior to her visit. Three neighbors called while I was gone to tell me there was a stranger in my driveway they did not recognize. When I opened the mail and figured out it was the Census Bureau, I called Vicki Bird's phone number and asked if she was the woman who was sitting in my driveway in a grey SUV. She snottily responded "It is a taupe Tundra". Her snotty reply bothered me. I asked if she didn't see the no trespassing sign. Her reply was "I work for the Federal Government. Your no trespassing sign means nothing to me." I was appalled at her attitude of entitlement to my property, lack of any manners, and absolute lack of concern for our causing us and our neighbors worry. People with no common courtesy or concern for their fellow human beings perception of safety in their own homes should not be sent to citizens front doors as representatives of our Federal Government!

During the last Census Bureau population census, the field representative opened my front door, put the census inside my home, and left my front door open. I had two kittens inside. Thank God they did not get out and get hit on the road! I was only gone a few minutes to the neighbors house. I called the police and they informed me they are not allowed to open our doors and this was criminal. I tried to get the name of the person who was working our area, but the complaint line messaging system could not take any more messages. Other people up and down the valley also had problems with this person and no one knew who they were or where they were from. Shortly after, the field representative was changed to a local person.

Desired outcome: The Census Bureau should train their employees to properly treat other humans. The U.S. Census Bureau should always call ahead to let you know they are coming! Local representatives should be used to increase public trust.
