In August 2020, I applied for a new mortgage and provided all the necessary documents for my application. At that time, my credit score and finances were in good shape. As the closing date approached, I asked for the amount of closing costs and informed them that I would pay cash towards those costs. I also made it clear that I didn't want an escrow account, as I intended to handle my property taxes independently. The next day, I received a call from two gentlemen stating that the closing costs were $21,000. I was taken aback by the amount and questioned why it was so high. They mentioned that a portion of the funds were needed to assist with my loan process. Frustrated, I requested them to stop my application. I explained that I wanted to refinance to get out of debt sooner and avoid PMI and escrow accounts. However, despite my request, they still submitted my application and informed me that it was denied. This started a series of headaches, and I have yet to be approved for a new mortgage. I was informed that a denial has a negative impact on my record, stating that my loan application was incomplete, and it significantly affected my credit score.

Desired outcome: Honesty and a copy of my application they sent in with the reason why I was not approved .
