Alexandra is rude, short and does not want to be bothered by questions about her cats or her breeding practices. She was annoyed by my confusion at her unclear answers, and from the start was very curt and unwilling to explain anything or answer any questions. She should not be breeding cats if she is not willing to communicate with someone who plans to purchase a cat from her in the future. If you are looking to purchase a Siberian from a good reputable breeder, a halfway decent or even barely passable, I would RUN from under polaris as they obviously do not care about you as the customer at all nor are they willing to provide any information on their cats. Attached are pictures of our very short email exchange so you can see for yourself and judge for yourself whether or not Alexandra is the kind of person you want to get a cat or kitten from, and give your money too.

Just came here to say I also do not recommend Under Polaris. I asked a few questions about timing of taking home a cat and found her communication style to be very short and indirect. When I told her I was still confused and asked a direct question she kept avoiding, she sent my money back and didn’t reach out. Once I asked her about it she told me she couldn’t do business with someone like me. My family and friends were shocked at how rude she was toward me, saying things like “anyone would have understood what I was saying”. I’m the kind of person that likes to be really prepared and get all my questions answered before big decisions. If you are a first time cat owner and have questions like me, I don’t recommend her. If you can follow her direction 100% and have no questions, she’s probably fine to work with. Can’t speak to her cats obviously.

I have two kittens from Alexandra a year and a half apart. I had very positive experiences. What may be construed as "rude" and "unprofessional" in my view is better described as a straightforward, no-nonsense manner of conducting business. This is highly efficient and actually quite professional. I highly prefer conducting business in this manner. If someone wants somebody more warm and fuzzy, then yes they probably should look elsewhere. We are fortunate in the Midwest region to have a number of catteries around. But if you want someone who clearly cares for her cats and kittens and who is very good at matching the kitten's temperament with you and your family, look no further. I was one of the first recipients of her fur sample testing as COVID had just started and it went very smoothly. I also must add that I've subsequently connected with several other cat owners who had cats from her cattery. Their experiences were very consistent and corroborated with mine. Again if a healthy cat with a good temperament is what you value more than sugar-coated interactions with the breeder, then I highly recommend Underpolaris Siberians.

This woman should not be in business where she deals with people. I am wanted to check out hypoallergenic cat breeds so I inquired about her cats, and how to test if my daughter would not react as she is allergic to cats. She mentioned she offers fur samples, and I inquired if I could speak with some of her references who used the fur samples, then adopted one of her cats, to see how their allergies responded once the cat was home. She flew off the handle and stated "If you have questions about my business you should address your questions to me!" She also stated she was not here to offer hugs and kisses when people don't trust her. UMMMMM- since when is asking for references considered inappropriate. Honestly she seems unstable, and unnecessarily aggressive.

After reading some of these comments, I was anxious about what kind of reception I would receive from Alexandra. However, my experience with her has been very positive. I’m interested in a retired adult. She asked me direct questions . I didn’t find her to be rude at all…just direct. After several email exchanges, she actually suggested another cat for me and sent me photos. I respect the fact that she wants to place the right cat with the right family. That is the kind of breeder you want to work with!

I felt like she had enough information on her website that shouldn't cause confusion. Anybody willing to spend a large amount of money should read everything before getting upset or feeling lost between the emails. We decided to reach out despite the negative reviews, and everything we got back from her was just brief and to the point. We never felt like her responses were rude. I do admit doing facetime made me feel more confident in the choice we made, and it was obvious that she takes her business seriously. I would rather be able to meet in person first, but I know during Covid we have to make adjustments. I would reccomend her cattery with maybe a little bit of prepping for someone who might need it.

I'm experiencing the same thing with her now. She's being so incredibly rude to me I'm honestly just in shock she would speak to me with so much aggression when I'm trying to do business with her.

Although Alexandra responded to my initial inquiry emails very quickly, her responses were very rude and unprofessional. Based on how she comes across in email, I would not give her my business- she does not deserve it.
I had emailed her additional questions on allergy testing and asked if she would be willing to do any saliva testing at my expense if I moved forward with purchasing a kitten, and she said quote " " I don't like working with difficult people, its best if you look for a cat elsewhere". On the website she encourages a "two way dialogue", however she really does not want to be bothered with questions. It's sad that someone who is breeding a 'hypo-allergenic' cat would be more compassionate for the people who are allergy sufferers and needing additional piece of mind before spending 1500+ .

I just picked up a beautiful Siberian kitten from Alexandra today. She has strict processes for a good reason and at the end of the day, she was a wonderful person to work with.

She genuinely cares about her cats and it shows with her knowledge and professionalism. Because of that, I could trust that we were getting a wonderful kitten. I would highly recommend working with her if you are looking a breeder you can trust. Simon

I completely agree with @Savage Galaxy! My bf and I recently tried getting a kitten from her and immediately her first response came off aggressive and short. She barely gave any information as to what her process was which left us very confused (as this is our first time dealing with a siberian breeder). We even paid $20 just for some cat fur from her since my bf is allergic and we needed to run a test before making a decision. All said and done when we tried and talk with her again for the deposit she’s was completely rude and short again and told us “she didn’t know anymore” about having kittens available which seemed odd since it had only been a couple days and you would think a reputable breeder knows how many people are on their waitlist and how many kittens they have available. We decided to say screw it and just go with a different cattery bc we were over her attitude. Why give your hard earned money to someone who doesn’t give a [censored] if they have your business or not. She had also sent a video of the current litter and we did not like the way she grabbed the kittens and how she handled them. I honestly don’t know how this woman has a business. & it seems very odd that reviews are so hard to find for this cattery. She also only believed in us paying for the cat in cash which made us feel weird since we would appreciate a paper trail for such a big purchase. I’m assuming it’s because she doesn’t want to pay taxes for the exchange... really shady. If you’re looking for a siberian, don’t bother wasting your time with underpolaris!

While Alexandra may not be "warm and fuzzy" to potential customers, there can be no doubt as to her love and dedication to this breed. The time, energy and care she puts into breeding and raising her cats is beyond compare. From the day we brought our beautiful kitten home, it was easy to see that he had been not only been loved and cared for but trained beyond just basic litterbox use!
Our Siberian was perfectly matched with our family. He is extremely social and loves playing with our kids and their friends. And his younger, half-brother lives next door. Also perfectly matched with my neighbor who needed a quiet, snuggly companion.
You can get a cat anywhere. If you are looking for a well bred, perfectly cared for, charming addition to your family, you really should go with Under Polaris.

I was actually considering getting a cat from this breeder. Can you tell me a bit about what the process of buying + receiving the cat from her was like, etc.?
