Purchased a vintage rug online that was shown to be in great shape to ad an heirloom piece to my house. When it arrived I was skeptical because it was so thin, but I thought it could be ok. It didn’t hold up 6months before the first repair and not a whole year before a giant tear. They don’t stand by the quality. I reached out to them and was told I have to strong a vacuum and I’ve damaged the rug somehow. I’ve used the same vacuum for years on other vintage rugs no issues whatsoever. The rug fibers are just disintegrating. That’s not caused by a vacuum. The owner was rather rude and could provide no help. Thousands of dollars wasted on a rug that is really worth hundreds.

Desired outcome: Partial refund

Two Sisters Rugs

I purchased a rug online that said "all sales final". I purchased based on the owner being an honest person and trusted that the photos represented the rug as it looks in person. When it came it was nothing like her online photos. Instead of being off-white, navy, brown with other pretty colors it was the dullest brown and green (see photos below) that you've ever seen. We immediately contacted her and said the rug looked nothing like her photos and offered to pay the return shipping so she could resell the rug because we will not be able to use it. She declined and said that we should take it outside to look at the colors (what good does that do). We told her we would dispute the purchase with our credit card company. After taking the rug to three rug dealers (all of which were persian owners, who know everything about persian rugs), they wrote letters stating that her photos did not represent the rug correctly. They also told us that it had been acid washed and touched up, in certain spots, with paint. After we submitted the proof from these shop owners, we were informed that we won our case and were credited the $5,265 (not a small amount) and were told that she will have to pay the arbitration charges as well as loosing the rug and her original shipping cost. My point of this post is to let others know, do not trust this woman's photos on her Instagram or her website. After looking at additional photos of hers, it appears that others are photoshopped due to the color of her wood floors in her photos. In some the floor is a pecan color and others it's very faded and light. If you decide to purchase, I would recommend that you see it in person or use a credit card that can be disputed. The numbers 1 and 3 pictures below are what she posted on her website and the numbers 2 and 4 are the real photos and look like the actual rug. I can't stress enough...BUYER BEWARE!

Hi, it’s Courtney from Two Sisters Rugs. I came across your review, and while I have no problem with you sharing your experience and that I did indeed stick to my “All Sales Are Final” return policy, there are a few things that I would like to address that are harmful and inaccurate in your review.

I sent multiple messages to your husband regarding my photography methods. I do not photoshop any of my rug photos, so for you to imply that I am doing this is not only disappointing but incredibly unethical on your part because we already had this discussion. Your presumptuous comment regarding my oak floors is inaccurate. The floors transition based off the natural light coming through the window, varying with the time of day. It’s fluid and not the same all day long. It’s natural light, not photoshopped.

I also took the time to explain and educate your husband that wool is extremely reflective and will transition based on your home environment. When customers reach out regarding a rug, I have an entire conversation with them regarding wool rugs and communicate that the rug may vary in their home environment. When customers don’t reach out, as in your case, my only way to communicate this fact is to add this information to each product listing. I did this for your rug and every other rug I list for sale. It’s my only way to disclose this fact if you choose not to reach out to me.

You mentioned a few colors you had hoped the rug would be. I’m surprised off-white was one of the colors you were hoping for. Off-white was never a color I listed. Here is exactly what I listed and were the colors of the rug in my home: taupe, sand, olive, light khaki, espresso, charcoal, gray, browns, navy, denim, light blue, chartreuse, mauve-brown, muted pink. You are correct that the rug has been antique washed. Most neutral rugs in the market are washed, as the weavers didn’t make many neutral rugs 70+ years ago. The paint, I have no clue about that.

Again, my intention was not for you to have a poor buying experience, but I do stand by my return policy being a small shop offering only one of a kind pieces. I completely understand that made you feel extremely upset and frustrated. I took over 30 images of this rug in two different light settings. I also make myself available to my customers for any questions. However, as you mentioned you were rewarded the entire price of the rug back despite me being honest and factual regarding the situation with wool and disclosing its varying nature. Again, I have no problem with you sharing your experience but please make sure it’s also factual and not just speculation because that is not fair to me.

You are continuing to deceive. You didn't post either one of those photos, that you show above, on your website when selling the rug! You also stated in an email that you used an iphone 11 for the photos. Each rug dealer I met with said that iphones have auto settings to enhance pictures and that they only use professional photographers for their pictures. I didn't win my dispute case out of luck! I won because your pictures and description were not true. I had letters from 3 rug dealers, not just one! So it is factual and I am not speculating in any way. I am just thankful that I didn't end up like your other bad review on this site. Thank goodness for credit card companies that protect buyers from people like you. Again, BUYER BEWARE!
