My son has had the MP3 for not even 2 months. He told me that he pressed the on button and goes on but none of the songs show up. When he plugs it into the computer it doesn't show the file that all the songs are in. I didn't keep the receipt because I didn't think that it would be this bad. I am very mad and so is my son.

Bought this product for 40.00. Came home to down load my music and no such luck. I should have bought the cheaper one which probalby would have worked. This is a true SCAM and the company is making bucks off of a product that does not work.

We purchased a Trutech Model T-1000M from Target and cannot load music files to it. there are no instructions or drivers available for XP users. Totally ridiculous wait times when trying to contact the company. We will be returning this "garbage" to the retailer!

I purchased the T512 a few year ago. I loaded the music and podcasts onto it. I bought an iPod shortly thereafter and put this in a drawer. I took it out and find that I cannot delete any files from it. I have had other difficulties with it but this is the worst.

I bought my Trutech MP3 player about three months ago, and I 've been satisfied with it. Recently, however, it turns on and flashes "MP3 Player" and won't do anything else! I have a new battery in it and everything. Why is this happening? Is there an easy fix? I'm hesitant to create an account with "JustAnswer" because I don't know anything about that company. I would really just like to know why the thing works for a few months and then goes to crap?!

Okay this is a piece of crap. But most of you can recover your device.

If you are running Windows XP you will need to go to start - run - diskmgmt.msc. This will bring up your hard driver, cd rom, and tru tech device. Plug the tru tech in and refresh diskmgmt.msc.

For me it too quite a while to be seen by the computer - maybe 3 mins. Next right click on the trutech device in the diskmgmt.msc window and chose format. (note I said RIGHT click and not left click)

It will say formatting and take a few minutes.

Now it should be ready to have songs copied to it again so you can start over.

This is how I recovered from the "flash error please backup the data and format the player error", but it works for most errors.

PS. You will lose your songs, but this way, you can start over.

I bought the Trutech Mp3 Player 1 GB and had not yet opened the package for fear of getting stuck with a piece of garbage. After reading these comments, I have decided to return this product.

Well, what can you expect ... Made in China

I purchased this trutech mp3 player about 2 months ago. I figured all I needed it was for vocal lessons and music and to save my parents money. Randomly, about 3 days ago. I turned it on and all that would read on the screen was "flash error! please backup the data and format the player." I checked the storage and everything is fine. What do I do?!

i got this device for christmas and at first it was working fine, then when i tried to add more songs it said it was full; however, it still have some space left on it. Then, weeks later, it said "flash erro. format disk" or whatever. ok so i did that. i erased all the files and put them back on and it was working okay for a while, but then it did that error thing again. so i repeated the processes and it was working ok-then it did the error thing AGAIN. so i formatted it and all-but it continues to state "flash error" message. i can not make it work now at all. i am going to call the 800 number and complain about this product! if anyone wants to call and complain, the number is [protected].

When it says the file has no authority to put it on, check to make sure the hold button isn't on or else nothing can be deleted or added onto the trutech player. I have trouble with it now other than that. I tried to delete some songs and add some new ones and it won't let me. It sucks. I am buying a new MP3 player.

I got the Trutech SMP- 1GBL as a Christmas. Since then I have had TROUBLE PUTTING MUSIC ON and taking it off. I've often found myself having to CONSTANTLY UNPLUG IT and plug it back in, just to get one song on/off. To make matters worse, a couple of weeks ago it completely CRAPPED OUT on me! If I press the on button, the SCREEN STARTS FLASHING and I have to remove the battery in order to cut it off. I've not been able to use it since then. I feel THERE'S NO USE IN COMPLAINING! No matter what, it's still! I should have just used my money to feed starving polar bears or something...

I completely agree with all of the comments about this product's defectiveness. There is definitely something wrong with Trutech. My Trutech Mp3 player model SMP-1GBL lasted for almost a month.

It was working fine and then that error message popped up. It said, "error! please backup the files and format the player." So I deleted all the songs from the player, I re-formatted it, and I re-uploaded the songs back onto it. The error message went away, but it still wouldn't play any songs. The thing still wouldn't work.
For hours I sat at the computer and tried to figure out what was wrong with it and I kept re-formatting it and deleting the songs. I was so frustrated with it that I was in tears.

Eventually, I found this very site, complaintsboard.com, and to my astonishment, there is a [censored]load of complaints about this product.

This ###ing sucks. I'm 22 years old and I don't have a lot of money. I'm gonna have to save up some money for a while so that I can buy a decent mp3 player.

And what the ### is with that dancing unicorn that pops up when you turn it off? Cause I thought that was weird. When you turn off the Trutech, this dancing unicorn shows up and it says "bye."

But there is nothing that I can do to make this product perform the way that Trutech claims it should.
Silly me, I thought products were supposed to work. I should have just burned the 30 bucks I spent on this device; I would have gotten more use out of the heat of my money burning than I have with this Trutech piece of ###.

All I can say is DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TRUTECH. But especially, don't by the Trutech mp3 player model SMP-1GBL. It is defective.

Oh yeah, and the brief time that it did work, it ate up batteries like no other. I would have to change the battery like every 2 days.

I was given an TRu Tech MP3 player and it has been nothing but trouble. In fact useless would be a better way to describe it. A nightmare to download music and the final thing is that when switched on it displays some message about flash error and needing formatting. No idea how to do this. But cannot switch the thing off except by removing battery! If anybody from Tru Tech reasd this, stop making MP3 players and do everybody a favour.

My trutech player has recorded the songs, but they won't play! I think they have been stopped. There's a small bold square on the side of the screen, andit looks like the "stop" icon on cd players and things. HELP!

I bought my son a Trutech MP3 player model #SMP-1GBL for his13th birthday. However, we are totally unable to erase music from it. I cannot find a website for help either. I have other things to do with my time than sit on the phone having someone not be able to help me. I will never buy anything else with this product name.

I bought one of these on my 16 th birthday which was 7months ago and it finally died. It won't hold any more then 6 songs now and the screen is glitchy. I honestly would have thought TRUTECH would make something better then this. Oh well, guess I'll go buy a 150$ Sandisk which can play videos and music.
