I found trisha meyers (she told me her name was emily) via instagram @mimisexoticworld through a celebrity hairstylists page she sold two monkeys to. I thought she was legit. I contacted her and we spoke about myself (5 months pregnant and not wanting to fly alone) and my boyfriend coming to see the animal. She rushed me and told me in order to save the cat for us we would have to book a ticket right then and there as a deposit as other ppl are interested as well. When we arrived she changed the meeting location from the houston airport to our hotel. Which was strange, but she said she was running late (by a few hours) and I didnt want to stand around the airport waiting. I was ready to lay down due to my pregnancy being high risk from surgery two years ago that saved my life. I went to the hotel and checked in and took a nap. She said she was close by we gave her $500 and she said she had to go get the bengal and bring him back with a carrier for the flight back and some food. I said no problem. When she arrived I noticed the cat was in a blacked out bag and she wasnt letting me hold or touch him. I gave her the $6, 000 cash she counted it twice (first stating I shorted her which I did not, and told her to recount it again). She then said she was in a super rush to a furniture store "down the street" from where we were staying and had to leave right now. I said okay ill text you when we get up to the room again. The cat started growling and not sounding like a cat at all. He was so violent inside the bag, I told my boyfriend just set him down in the room and let him relax. After about 30 minutes, I told my boyfriend he cant be in there all night he needs to bond with us. Open up a can of the chicken she gave us she said he eats, and unzip the blacked out carrier and let him come out on his own. Ten minutes later he was out and about and being very weird. He looked/walked like a wild animal and not the way she described in person at all. So, being curious as to what we have on our hands, my boyfriend who's owned exotic pets since childhood did some research. While he googled, I went digging through her instagram for the first time that day. She posted the animal stating it was from a zoo and a geoffrey leopard. We had a full grown leopard in our hotel room. He started spraying pee everywhere growling and hissing. He calmed down for a bit, then, he attacked me. Yes, attacked me. No sudden warning, no triggers, just attacked me. Latche onto my bottoms and bit into my back breaking skin. I called her immediately. She came and made us put the cat back in the blacked out bag after attacking, I threw up and hid in the bathroom out of anxiety im sure being pregnant and far away from home (nevada). It took my boyfriend 45 minutes to an hour and a lot of bites and scratches to get this grown leopard back into that bag. At the end she said she spent our money, and would sell another animal to get us our $6, 500 back in two weeks max. It's been a month. I kindly asked her for an update and she blocked me from instagram and her phone and has stopped responding since. There's nothing else I can do. I am at a loss. I went to the ultrasound doctor as soon as we returned home and saw that baby was okay. Thank god! But now I am out of $6, 500 with no animal. And a scar on my back. Baby is okay, but the trauma has been a lot, and more than I bargained for.
