We contracted Trademark due to their affiliation with Renomark. It was a complete disaster. We moved our young family out of the home and into a rental property. For nearly 4 months, our property sat empty - trades rarely showed. As per our contract, the project was to be completed within 6 months. It was finally completed after 1 year and only after Trademark was fired from the project and a new Contractor was brought in. During the process, Trademark disrespected our home - our tile in one bathroom was completely ruined due to workers with muddy boots using it and not putting down anything to protect it. Additionally, they cut obstrusive holes in the side of our brick house that is 100 years old because they had no clue what they were doing. Despite having signed contracts, some of the trades who Trademark used increased their prices by 50% of the signed contract price and then refused to complete the job or release the permit unless we paid the new price. One tradesperson working under Trademark took payment for bathroom fixtures then disappeared with the money and didn't provide us with our fixtures. We ended up terminating our contract with Trademark and found someone who is not a member of Renomark. This contractor was amazing - he finished the work on time and on budget and the quality was better than that of Trademark. Our new Contractor was disgusted by the garbage that he found had been thrown in our walls by Trademark and the poor quality of work that he had to end up fixing. Don't go with big name firms...find your Contractor through referrals! As an FYI, Trademark was found guilty (as of Mar14, 2011) on one or more code of ethics violations with the Canadian Homebuilders Association and with Renomark. As such their memberships are suspended. This is the same board and group of peers that the owner of Trademark Renovations used to have a seat. I'd be embarassed if I were him as this is his peer group. I say well deserved! Buyer beware!
FYI - I have back and forth emails, pcitures showing deficiencies of Trademark Renovations. As well, for anyone interested I do have the letter from CHBA with their judgement against Trademark Renovations.

Did you try connecting with the BBB to file a complaint? We did and they were powerless to do anything, despite there being 2 complaints similar in scope and concern. if they are a prepaid contractor you should also consider filing a complaint with service Alberta.
I guess the Canadian Home Builders Association and Renomark believe differently than the last 2 posts above - that Trademark Renovations wasn't meeting the standard in regards to their code of conduct and ethics policies/mandates. I am sure Mr. Foisy can provide you with a letter that will outline their decision for judgement against his company's behavior.
Hey ConradF...a jury of his peers found your so called man of integrity negligent in taking care of customers and kicked him and his company out of the AB Home Builders Association, not the people of this forum...you only have to steal once to be called a thief. Are you excusing his previous behavior?
I believe one persons negative opinion should not mar his total credibility, this chba issue is two years ago and I really see no other complaints to Mr Foisy and his staff. Every client is not suitable to every contractor vice versa so to all reading this find a contractor not giving what appears to be the best deal but seems to be able to communicate well with you and that you immediately feel comfortable with. Consumers - be realistic in your $$$ and what it will get i'm not even a renovator and I can see clearly through all this . and if someone who is posting is a competitor then shame on you.
The thing I find interesting it that the only negative comment I can find about Trademark is posted by Renohater. I find lots of reviews saying that the customer really enjoyed working with Renohater. Why was no BBB complaint ever filed? Hmmmm, I'm thinking Conrad has it right, Renohater has no actual case, other than to slander what seems to be a good company.
What really irks me to no end is how it always seems to be the renovation contractor that gets painted with the brush that all are out to get the consumer! If truth be told there are far too many clients trying to take advantage of those attempting to provide them a service. There are many great hardworking, honest and highly skilled tradesman in Calgary that have or are been seriously taken advantage of and then badmouthed in forums like this. Contempt prior to investigation -do your homework and due diligence.
Trademark is a competitor to me but let me say this - he is a man of integrity and manages one of the top renovation businesses in Calgary.
I had a totally differant experiance with Trademark. Not only did they finish ahead of schedule, they were very curtious and clean and respectful. I am pleased with the completion and the quality of their work. I have a home in High River that they will be starting a complete renovation in the near future. I highly recomend Trademark to anyone who expects the best and the most for their money.
Last year we hired Trademark Renovations and they transformed our basement from a concrete storage room to a luxurious, comfortable recreation room including a fantastic home gym. Their workmanship, price and trustworthiness made a very large renovation very easy to live through. It was finished on time and very close to budget. I would recommend them to anyone who needs any sort of home renovation.

sympathy ... BEWARE
Don't use Eiffel Developments of Okotoks either, it was the same thing. They are also a member of Reno Mark.
