October 19, 2012 I received an email in response to my sending a resume for a job I saw on Craiglist for an Assistant Manager position in a Logistics Company. The email said I got the job and I will received employment documents that I needed to fill out and fax back. I was also told I would work for a month at home training for the position and make 1750 a month. I did think that was a lot of money, that about 425.00 a week to learn at home. I thought this was almost reasonable for an Assistant Manger position but it was a lot. I sent the documents and I received several emails back and not until November 12, 2012 did I get my first package. Not until November 28, 2012 after being told about the package forwarding scam while on at trip to the post office did I know this was not a real job but a scam that could make me an accessory to a crime and face a felony. I know now, looking at the website: http://www.tplglobal.services.com, I should of been smarter, had more discernment and known "something wasn't right". I went back to the site November 29, 2012 and I attempted to send a message on the contact us page and I got the message ; destination cannot be found.. That infuriates me, I should of tried this before sending the employment documents November 5, 2012. The person who I had been emailing ; David Brown was so adamant about getting the documents, I thought it was a real job opportunity. After leaving the post office I sent a complaint to the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs, FraudAid.com, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, USPS Postal Inspectors, UPS complaint website, Fed Ex Complaint website and to each of the merchants that send me merchandise. I am so scared. All of the merchandise has my name and address on it. I am scared of the FBI or police coming to my door to arrest me. I would be so scared and embarrassed. I have a clean crime record and I want to keep it that way. I know it was dumb to get in this mess but I want to let people know this is prevalent and to check the facts of any email you receive or any job or money opportunity.

This is one of David Brown's emails:

The first email between David Brown for TPL Global Logistic Services:

Once again, Thank you for applying for position of Assistant
Logistic manager with our company. It is our firm belief that
training a new employee, who is eager to learn is much more
effective than retraining a person who already has some
experience in logistics with another company. If you are reading
this document, you already passed preliminary selection and now
can advance to the next stage.

Our company offers intelligent warehousing and order fulfillment
for miscellaneous internet companies as well as expeditor
services. Now we are expanding even more, and we are opening a
new location . We would like to make sure that we have enough
trained employees by the time we open the warehouse and office
space, so we can start right away, without wasting any time.

Below you will find detailed description of the employment
process, training program, which will be commenced upon your
successful completion of preliminary employment steps as well as
salary information for each stage.

Pre-Employment stages.

• You will be interviewed over the phone or in person by one of
our HR managers;

• If considered necessary at this stage, we might require a
background check. In this case, you will have to give your
consent for us to perform one; There are no expenses on your part

• Final interview will be conducted;

• If background check will be satisfactory and results of the
final interview are positive, you will sign Contract Agreement,
Non-Disclosure Agreement, and will have to fill out tax forms;

• Once all the forms are completed and documents are signed you
will start working with our company.

Employment stages.

Stage I. Probation period. Duration: 1 month. Salary $2350month.

• This is your probation period during which you will get
acquainted with our operations. This is a test of all your basic
skills: attention to details, responsibility, ability to
multitask and complete several assignments in a short period of
time without any additional help. You will receive one of our
smaller client companies and will serve as correspondence agent
for this company, receiving and managing parcels, packages and
other shipments to be delivered for them. Your ability to
maintain proper documentation and logs will be tested. You will
work with the Sales department and regional offices of the
company, in order to plan necessary expenses and terms of
delivery to the Clients.

• You will get familiarized with all modules of our proprietary
logistics software and will obtain basic skills necessary for
advancement to the next stage.

• You will start learning our Warehouse Management System
integrated with client’s Supply Chain Systems, and Electronic
Data Interchange (EDI),

• You will be familiarized with our warehouse RFID inventory
system.

• You will have to learn and pass test of knowledge of OSHA
requirements.

Conditions for passing of this stage are

• No misplaced or lost packages. No mistakes in logs or insurance
documents. No delays;

• Successful passing of all pertinent tests;

During Stage I you will be working and learning from home, part
time. When we find a suitable warehouse + office space, (it will
take about 1 month) you would have to start working from office
in order to continue training.

Stage II. Training. Duration of this stage will be determined
upon completion of stage I and will vary between 3 to 4 months.
Salary will be paid on monthly basis, calculated from base salary
of $36Kyear. You will be working with one of our trainers in
order to learn and gain ability to efficiently and independently
complete the following tasks:

• Be responsible for shipments, scheduling, ordering of equipment
and supplies, ensuring on-time performance;

• Delegate tasks to ensure successful completion of operating
plans with a strong focus on safety and efficiency;

• Assign daily work schedule based on our open order reports
(shipping). Monitor the amount of man power being used for each
department according to the amount of units been received and
shipped on each calendar day;

• Manage and coordinate maintenance plans to ensure maximum
facility utilization;

• Supervise the floor on a constant basis going true each step
from receiving of goods finishing, picking and packing stations
to assure all customer requirements are been followed, managing
the work flow in order to reach highest efficacy and
productivity;

• Supervise maintenance of all company warehouse equipment such
as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. necessary to run shipping and
receiving departments.

• Process all paper work for outbound loads including scheduling
appointments with LTL and FTL carriers, checking in drivers,
checking and signing the BOL’s, and Confirming all orders shipped
complete in PKMS.

• Develop and implement warehouse design to include traffic
patterns, pedestrian walkways, staging areas, loading and
unloading procedures that would improve productivity in
receiving, warehouse & shipping efficiency.

• Order and maintain inventory control for all warehouse raw
materials that include pallets, tapes, machine shrink wrap, hand
wrap etc;

• Evaluate manpower needs and control costs for overtime and
plant expenses.

• Promote a safe working environment by providing safety training
and enforcing OSHA rules and regulations.

• Plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day operations:
Warehousing, Purchasing, Inventory, Customer Service.

Stage III Final stage. You become part of our company.

Upon successful completion of Stage II you will sign a contract
with us with the following conditions and benefits contingent on
your performance during the preliminary stages:

• Medical insurance for you, your spouse and up to 2 dependents;
• 2 weeks paid vacation and paid holidays;
• Salary will commensurate with experience;

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me over the
email. If you would like to continue the employment process,
please reply with an email containing your most recent phone
number, your updated resume pasted in email body (it is
important, please don't send attachments) and preferable time
interval when we can contact you. We will set up an interview and
will continue from there.

Dear Victoria

I would like to inform you that there are few changes with the
status of our expansion that will affect the overall course of
your employment process. As you probably already know, we did not
establish a warehouse and office location near you yet. However
we are actively working on it and we are planning to find a
suitable warehouse + office space in December. Which means that
Stage I of employment process would go from your home. All
training materials would be transferred via email and regular
mail. Unfortunately it is impossible to do all of the training
remotely, so we have to cut on the hours and our program a little
bit.

So Stage I will be last for one month, 20 hoursweek, with salary
1750$month. Once it is complete you would be working from our
new warehouse with salary according to schedule described in
previous email.

Learning of our Warehouse Management System as well as our
warehouse RFID inventory system will be moved to Stage II.

If this change is acceptable for you, we would be glad
set up an interview with you, so we can continue the employment
process.

Best Regards,

David Brown

Dear Victoria Luc

We are happy to know that you are an employee of our company now.
Right now we will start training process, starting with simple
tasks and advancing as we go to more and more complex duties.
Right now I would like to explain you a bit more about our
work and your particular role in our company on this stage of
training process.

During Stage I of training process you will learn our basic
operations and will get familiarized with our software integrated
with warehouse automation system. At the end of Stage I You will
pass OSHA certification and couple of other pertaining tests. At
this moment will be acting as a correspondence agent for some of
our private clients in Europe. This is a simple task requiring
consistency, good self managements skills and attention to
details. You can learn more about what we offer here
http://tplglobalservices.com/wordpress/goods-forwarding/

You will receive packages, check condition of contents, check
corresponding documents and send it to the final recipient. You
would have to maintain a package log, keeping track of all
packages, documenting all pertinent information. When you receive
access to our software, you will have to input all the data in
our database.

It will take few days to check and process your data, once it is
done, I will contact you right away. Meanwhile, if you have any
Questions about the process, feel free to ask.

Best regards, David

Hello Victoria,
Everything is going as planned, we are supposed to start Monday, it takes couple of days to check and propagate all data. Sorry about keeping you in the dark on this matter.
I hope the weather is good in Georgia now and you are enjoying it as well :)
Best Regards, David

Good Morning Mr. Brown,

I hope all is well. I just wanted to check on the status of my application, employment paperwork and my employment status with TPL Global Services. I look forward to beginning training and moving on to the next stage in the training process.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you have a good day and enjoy the beautiful Texas weather.

Sincerely,

Victoria Luc

Dear Victoria

This Monday we start the first day of stage I. There will be no
complex tasks during this stage, and to make process of training
even easier, I am going to provide you with written instructions
every single step of the way. During the first two weeks your
task is quite easy- follow the instructions, make sure that all
packages are properly recorded, inspected, added to the log, and
shipped in time. During the second two weeks we are going to
concentrate more on training. We are going to supply you with
training materials, and you will have to pass certain tests prior
to stage II.

As you probably know from our website, one of the main sources of
our income is servicing small and medium sized Internet based
sellers. They sell products on Ebay or through their websites,
without ever touching their goods. We deal with the entire
process of distribution from receiving the goods from
manufacturer to delivery to the final user. Storage, packaging,
customs processing is our responsibility, so our clients can
concentrate on what is most important for them - marketing,
promotion and expansion of their business as fast as possible
operating with maximum efficiency.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, it seems that there will be
little activity during the first week, the pace will pick up
during the second week. Do not worry, it does not affect your
salary. I will be working with you for the first couple of weeks
until you get a good grip on the basics. Later on, once you have
access to our database, we will assign you a training manager who
will be teaching you more advanced procedures. Your duties on
this stage will consist mostly of logging, gathering data and
resolving minor issues that may arise with the packages like
incorrect deliveries etc.

Right now we are expanding on a new target market- eastern Europe
and we would like to gather actual information about shipping
risks involved for small private parties so that we can calculate
actual insurance values. You will be instructed in detail during
the whole process. All costs are covered by the company in
advance, you will be provided with all shipping materials and
prepaid labels. Main purpose of Stage I is to test your
reliability and your ability to work without constant
supervision, while managing to complete required assignments in
time. Before you manage someone else we would like to make sure
that you can manage your own time. You don't need significant
storage space, most packages are small and normally you will not
have more than 3 at a time.

Glad to have you on board, if you have any questions don't
hesitate to write me.

Best regards, David

3. Dear Victoria

Hello Victoria,
Yes, thank you very much I did enjoy it because my father is a
Veteran. And for some reason we have several people from the
military in our company, so we take a day off to enjoy it
properly. I guess in the military they know the value of
quality logistics.
In any case, we are resuming normal work, I will provide you with
detailed instructions about the packages today.

Hello Victoria,
We've been notified about this scam and it worries us because it creates problems for legitimate companies like ours. I understand your concerns. We are aware of this situation on the market and the reasons such scam companies exist is because they are mimicking absolutely legitimate companies which are in this business for years.
As it is stated in our contract, you are getting your paycheck on December 12, but I will do my best to expedite your check. It is very late today, my assistant will call you tomorrow morning and we are going to resolve it. Don't worry, this is a temporary problem.
It is quite possible that your postmaster is a typical representative of old school brought up on concept that Russia is something dangerous. It is his point of view and he definitely has a right to have it. If there were any actual reasons to believe that something is going wrong, postmaster would hold on to all packages. Right now, he is merely expressing his point of view. Our point of view is that Russia is a prominent and promising market with great future. Are you familiar with BRIC abbreviation? It is the opposite of PIGS. BRIC is Brasil Russia India China- countries developing very rapidly with great opportunities for business. PIGS is Portugal Italy Greece and Spain- countries with greatest risks, most troubled economies. Of course Russia is risky for multiple reasons. But there is no good business without the risk. If you are uncomfortable working with Russia, I can switch you to another region. But we have to resolve problems with delayed packages ASAP or our clients will be very angry. You can use another postal office if this one is giving you trouble. As I said, if there was an actual reason to be worried, they would confiscate the goods.So right now it is merely his assumption.
Best Regards, David

Hi David.

I just got back this afternoon from my trip to Florida. I commenced work this late afternoon and proceed to go to the Post Office. I have having some concerns. I went to the post office and I was stopped by a clerk who explained to me that she has been alerted by the Post Master that there is a scam going on where people are employed to send packages to the Russian Federation, packages bought with a stolen credit card and sent to a bogus address. I can't be caught in a scandal.

Please send me payment for the work I have done so far and please explain to me why when I call the number you have given me I can not reach anyone. I have grave concerns and I feel stuck with all of this merchandise that the Post Office is refusing to accept.

Please get back to me. I have to do more home work on your company.

Sincerely,

Victoria

Hello Victoria,
Ok I will put a stop, but can you please update me. What do you mean police investigation?
On what grounds? What's wrong?

Hello Victoria,
Please provide other dispatch so we do not sink with this project.
If this postal office is giving you unreasonable trouble use another one.
The thing is that USPS is cutting about 35000 positions and this causes panic.
The result of this panic are multiple unreasonable actions and statements like this one.
What they don't understand is that they are damaging their clients' businesses, making the situation even worse.
We have to continue working as normal. It is quite possible that we have to switch to FedEx. Meanwhile, please use USPS labels, they have been already paid for.
Best Regards, David

Hello Victoria,
Please give me the badge number and contact information of police officer handling this matter.
Best Regards, David

Hello Victoria,
I must say that your behavior is very suspicious. You don't pick up the phone when we contact you, you fail to respond to our multiple emails. Reply ASAP if you don't want to be under police investigation yourself and this one will be real and substantiated.
You disappear for several days only to appear with bogus accusations. And when those are properly addressed, you continue to evade direct contact.
I am very disappointed and I hope we can resolve this soon.
Best Regards, David

We too got scammed. Company name global logistics from career builder, name was john avecedo who offered this opportunity to my husband. He was then hired through the company, the supervisor, Tracy Estes was in constant contact with my husband about shipping anonymous names with our address on it with the package. Prepaid labels were received from Tracy and ship out to Russia with different name. It was promised after one month probation it would be 2900 base salary and $30 per box. After one month of this, it stopped, no contact from Tracy, my husband then research more into the company, nothing. We then looked into scam similar to this. We are scared because we don't want law enforcement to come knocking at our door. We should have researched more into this but our financial situation was critical that we felt it was a legitimate thing, didn't ask for credit card, didn't ask for social, they did ask for driver license and paypal account. Of course my husband immediately removed our bank account and removed the paypal account as well. We then had to report it to the FBI and submitted all the tracking packages that was delivered. So please be aware and do your research, we should have done this earlier. In the economy these days and a financial situation you are in, it's so easy to be lured into this scam without your research. Lesson learned

I went through the exact same thing, and when I tried to get an explanation for never getting paid, they stopped responding to ne altogether. This is definitely a scam so people please beware. It looks like they started in Florida and then came to Atlanta, and their next target market is Chicago.

I just went through the same thing with this scam! Unbelievable. He is trying to tell me they wont issue a paycheck until I send packages. Its against state and federal law to do so for ANY reason. Anyway, The checks are fraudulent as well. Just hope for Karma!
