I have changed my name because i dont want to make my life into more difficulties just want to know how can i solve this problem. I am a tanent in sector-33 chandigarh, my land lady is a NRI & Senior Citizen. She use to harras me many times to drop her here and there as i am having car, when ever i refused to do that she torture me to vacate the room as i have just completed my education and I am fighting to make my career, she knocks the door like any thing so much loudly i got scared many times. At the time, when i came to take the room she had given me furnished types of room but all the furniture was scrap types off i made it to usable by repairing them as she has not paid for that and now she is taking back the furniture one by one, some times she torture me this much that i feel depressed, today she called me and said you vacate the room i said i am searching for a job and very upset but she said i cant do any thing, I am completely depressed wt should i do, room rents are quite high ( 5000 to 8000 ) how can i manage, i manage this rooms rent i.e Rs 3000 with very difficulties. She said i call the police and i tell them he has not given me rent from last two months but i have paid all my monthly rents in advance and she has not given any receipt and she said you dont have any receipt to show them and she is a senior citizen & NRI she can do any thing as she said. As she is having so many cases already running against her, this is also a reason b'cose of which i am totally scared and many times she pretends that she is ill eventhough she is not and make all her work done like by doing this type of actings . So is dere any law or justice or concerned person to whom i can complaint...or our land lords torture us again and again like this...and we cant do any thing just to think for suicide.

Sounds like you need to move even if you cant afford to do so.Maybe you could find a person who's looking for a room mate?
I can sympathize. My landlord has been using his cohorts and family members to harrass me since I was laid off. We're talking round-the-clock, 24-7. His daughter lives upstairs, and likes to cough and gag when she goes past my apt, pour cheap cologne outside my door, flicks, kicks or keys my door as she goes by. Their friends and family shout in my window, telling people "she's weird", "she's really weird" "she's crazy", loiter near my door (I took a picture of a glass they left), and more. It is almost like I am under 24 hour a day surveillance, have no privacy, and cannot leave; my laid off status isn't enticing to landlords. He had the building inspected by the fire marshal, I guess. I know a whole bunch of people were coming through, and this is what I was told. They never inspected my apartment, just the rest of the building. He said they gave the building a clean bill of health. For 8 months, he refused to replace my partially functioning stove/oven until an article came out in the newspaper stating they would be publishing the names of rogue landlords. I can understand needing to be around to make repairs, but the repairs are abnormally prolonged, and sometimes nonexistent. My rent is current, I receive no aid. And yes, I understand. it does feel like you are in a hostage situation where your only release will occur when you can no longer pay the rent and are evicted onto the street, like a bum.
Actually, no, in this case. The stove has been fixed, my apartment is structurally sound and the tenants union is almost nonexistent. Unfortunately, bullying isn't illegal, and neither is stupidity.
Slumlords are the worst & They are everywhere.Why did'nt you consult an Attorney about getting you out of your lease when you did'nt have a fully functioning stove/oven for 8 Months?And Why did'nt the Fire Marshal inspect your Apt.?Sounds really suspicious(Is there problems with your Apt.)? & Possible Corruption (Was there a Pay-Off)?Do you have a lease? Or, is it Month to Month Basis?You really dont want to be Evicted that will affect both your Credit as well as your Rental History in the future.If you have no lease Move Out, you are required to give 30 Days Notice of your intention to vacate the premises if you want your deposit back, But really whats the odds you will ever see any of that money again?
solutions for some of these harassment problems: document like a pro, every aspect, call the cops on anything possible to get judicial witnesses, document, then when appropriate prosecute. breach of peace, breach of habitability, intentional interruptions, small claims court is absolutely easy to approach, threatens the landlord a lot.
but also, the bless thy enemies with great strong sharp love and blessings.. it's vital to do good to those who persecute your deep vulnerabilities.. stand stronger, you are a good person, every good person faces persecutions sometimes, the more vulnerable you are, sadistics seek out and push the buttons.. it's entertaining to them to watch you squeel. the are jerks, get over it with a blessing and quiet strategic sharp kind but strong response. strategically neuter the threat.. it usually can happen, must focus on bringing stronger good to bear than the evil.. overcome evils by intense conscious goodness, love the hate, does NOT mean accept or expose self, .. be strong and focuses, hating doesn't help at all, fear but listen to fear, don't get paralyzed.
law is powerful stuff for tenants but you have to learn common law torts and how to prosecute legally evil malicious conduct. and god's laws trump small claims court, but both have their place..

IF You need some practice theres a pitbull out back that belongs to the neighbor that you can start with, Since they spend No Time with this fence chewing beast they would'nt even know it happened Or, when. Are you interested? They are not even in town rite now & Are out of town most other times as well leaving this dog all alone in the yard.

It is all a matter of public record - all your Lis Pendens and foreclosures, your bankruptcies. You still owe Alex $700 from your last go-round. You owe so many people so much money, all a matter of public record. You have a temporary "win" because you are more clever than me in court, because you are a master of the game. But there is something called "Convenant of Quiet Enjoyment", the is something called "Breach of Contract", there is "harrasment, threats, intimidation and attempted extortion". Sometimes you just have to pack it up, load it up on a truck and move it all to a better neighborhood with better people to deal with.Thats what i had to do.When i got nowhere with my landlord who allowed my neighbor to sell drugs, have vicious & aggressive pitbulls on the property and denied me my off street parking.

Thought maybe i scared you away or something? Lol. You forgot Evil in your description of those landlords that are greedy and ruthless. Money is the root of all Evil. Still say that sometimes it's best to just move to a better neighborhood with better folks to rent from and a better class of neighbors.
