The purpose of my email is to make your work of how disappointed I am in Theresa Meyer of TNT Maltese. I will be making a complaint at the department of professional regulation on how I was treated how unethical Theresa is as a breeder. I am also breeder of cattle and horses, run a finance company and have a very busy life. I have known Theresa Meyer for over twelve years. I have kept in touch with her many years and assumed I had some repour and when ready to purchase a new dog, I assume she would be ethical and responsible.

I frequent the dog shows and know most of the Maltese breeders that go to the shows in the state of Florida and I have owned Maltese over many years. I spoke to Theresa several months ago and she indicated that she would have a female for me in a few months. I did not hear from her and I recently contacted her a few weeks ago and ask for pictures and information. She indicated the female that was not ready at the time. I had many questions and reviewed pictures and videos on WhatsApp of the female, which became ready in the last few days.

She was fully aware of my desires to purchase the Maltese breed. I was fully prepared to take her dog. I run three businesses It is not easy to plan when you run three businesses to plan a ten-hour trip to pick up a new animal. I had requested papers, pictures, and information, and was preparing to make the trip. This is a five hour drive each way to pick up the new puppy. I am extremely thorough looking at the genetics family history, and health condition of each animal before I make a purchase. I have no intentions of breeding her for clarification.

She indicated in the most recent conversation that I was wishy washy. She also indicated that she told me she would be in South Florida on July 9th and indicated that she told me know that she would be there at that time, which is not true. If that were the case, I would have dropped what I was doing to meet her to purchase the new puppy. As a breeder myself, we do genetic testing on the animals. Study the animals to make sure that they Healthy and will live a long healthy life.

After knowing Theresa for twelve years, I assumed she was an ethical professional breeder based on my experience and what I have seen going to shows and looking at her animals. This whole communication process was over a 7 to 10 period. After I contacted her, I was made aware that the dog would be ready in a short period of time. I was not aware that the dog was ready to be sold until just a few days ago. After a few days, I was preparing to make the trip to her in northern Florida, I contacted her to ask if she needed a deposit and to prepare for the drive. I was preparing to make the trip. I also offered a deposit before I made the trip.

Keep in mind I had full intentions of purchasing her dog with no qualms especially after knowing her for twelve years assuming she was an ethical responsible breeder. She told me the dog was sold and I was heartbroken and astonished that she would treat me this way as a breeder, buyer and Maltese fanatic, especially after a long communication of twelve years. She knew my intentions. She did not ask for a deposit initially which one I would have gladly provided. I love all animals’ dogs, cats, horses, cows, and all types of animals, I am involved in various associations and I understand the implications of how animals are treated and how people are treated.

Additionally, As I am involved the protection of animals, I contact various organizations including the department of professional regulation and all regulatory systems that govern the sale and Laws of animal breeding and Ethics. As I am making a complaint Against TNT Maltese. I am glad to provide all of the correspondence for an investigation on your part if necessary. I'm going to push for her to be removed from the American Maltese association list as a breeder due to her unethical practices.

I have a multitude of other people that have had many issues with breeders that change their prices, sell their dogs, play cat a mouse with buyers and are unethical with false paper work and puppy mill dogs. It is likely that the state will investigate after my complaint is filed. The purpose of this is to make you aware of how your Maltese breeders are treating customers when selling their dogs. I have had other experience with other breeders on your list her in Florida.

I would strongly suggest that part of your association should be governing the ethics of your breeders and should be instituted to make sure that your breeders are operating ethically based upon the laws of ethical practices. I am glad to speak to anyone about what transpired and I will continue to move forward with my intentions until she is reprimanded for her actions.

Desired outcome: reprimand and new laws governing animal sale
