RE: June 5, 2026 - The View Hosts Reflects on Pride in America During Heated Discussion
Alyssa Farah Griffin concurred with other hosts that being proud to be American does not require overlooking the country’s significant flaws. Griffin concluded by saying, “What makes us so unique, and one of the things that makes me love this country so much, is we’re unlike any other country on earth in that we are racially, religiously, and socio-economically incredibly diverse. There’s no country on earth that has that.”
How about America’s neighbour to the North? Canada is RECOGNIZED to be the nation that is the most racially, religiously, and socio-economically diverse! And Canada has an established social safety net (universal health care), and has PROVEN to be America's ally at 9-11.
I have been a long-time Canadian "fan" of The View ... but, after this outright jingoistic assertion, no more!
You caught them red handed with that Canada fact. I love it. Jingoistic nonsense drives me crazy too. Diversity is not a US exclusive. Canada exists. So does Brazil, India, lots of places. You are absolutely right to call them out. Keep being that sharp critical fan who actually knows the world map. They needed to hear that.
