The Duct Doctor advertised a coupon for $25.95 to clean my air ducts in my house. Before I knew it it was up to almost $600 due to 'mold'. Not only was I taken on that I made the mistake of paying up front. They then missed 3 appts with no call. To receive a one hour service it took from 4/11/11 to 5/9/11. No offer to reimburse and did not respond to my calls or emails requesting a refund of some sort. Do not use this company. I personally have no idea how this company can possibly stay in business.

I was taken by The Duct Doctor as well. I responded to one of the same offers as mentioned above 9a coupon in Val-Pak envelope). Free mold test, dryer vent cleaning for free, unlimited number of ducts for $25.something. The worker stated that he first had to do a mold test because it was too dangerous for them to clean my duct system if there was mold in there. He used a swab and a solution to show me how bad the mold supposedly was. I told the worker that I really couldn't afford cleaning the mold, I was just interested in the duct cleaning. He told me about their quarantee and said I shouldn't wait long to do it (clean the ducts) because "you saw how dark the solution was! Yours is pretty bad". Because of these scare tactics, I asked him to at least show me what it would cost for me to clean out the mold and do the ducts. When he wrote my bill up, my total was over $900.00. I was on medical disability at the time and had hardly any money. I transferred all my money on hand into my checking, minus a couple hundred, so I could get this 'necessary' work done. I also told worker that the monies wouldn't be in my account until Wed. (it was the Fri prior). He said he was too booked to come back on that day, "How about writing a post dated check?" I ended dup writing him the post-dated check and he cashed it as soon as he left my house. I was charged with 3 or 4 ISF's from my bank on Monday and also misc. fees attached. I want 3x my money back for the bogus charge for bogus work, for the ISF and the added fees associated with the ISF, plus for hardships they created for me knowing full well that I was on disablity and short on cash. They have no heart. The worker is a liar and a thief.

this company is trying to hide their over 30 complaints by changing their name. Their old website was taken down at http://theairductdoctor.com/underdevelopment.cfm and they opened up under a new name at http://theductguy.com/content/home.html. notice that both sites are made by the same webdesign firm. Don't get fooled by this crook

Our experience exactly matches the above description with "The Duct Doctor". The Duct Doctor (Also goes by the name of "The Air Duct Doctor") in is the most brazenly fraudulent company that I have ever worked with.

We should file a class action suit to address this menace. Please avoid dealing with this organization.
