We contacted ABE in February of 2010 to get a Tegola Canadese shingles roof installed. ABE put us in contact with Malcolm Goldberg of M-Proof Roofing and Waterproofing who started the installation on the 23rd April 2010.

From the start we had major issues which included but by far not limited to using different materials than quoted for, leaving the roof open while it rained which destroyed our ceilings and dropping skeleton crew off which took much longer that agreed. I will explain the rest in detail on request.

The roof leaked in several places from the start, even though we were assured by both Malcolm and Peter McArdle from ABE that we had a warranty and that any issues would be sorted out immediately it is now 2 years later and nothing has been resolved. We have stains on most of our ceilings, water dripping out of ceilings and floorboards lifting up in the house.
For months we tried to get Malcolm to fix the roof to no avail, we then contacted Peter to honour the ABE warranty who is not with ABE anymore. After 3 months of trying to get ABE to respond (Elrene Smuts & Steven Rault) we are no closer to a resolution and ABE has made it clear that their 20year warranty is absolutely useless.
Consumers need to know that the Tegola Canadese warranty through ABE will not be honoured and they can very likely be stuck with an expensive, leaky roof which they will have to replace at their own cost.
Customers dealing with ABE needs to know that they are not a moral company and doing business with them could leave them out of pocket and very frustrated, we learnt this at significant cost.
