Takhira Afghan Hounds - Birgit Ferguson review: Still waiting for money back, 4years later

I had sent money ($1200.00 aus) to Birgit for a puppy advertised on Afghansonline.com. This was in the spring of 2008. Right after I sent the money my Mother had a stroke and passed away 6 weeks later. I had asked Birgit to hold off shipping the puppy to Canada while my mother was hospitalized. After my mothers affairs had been dealt with I contacted Birgit to arrange shipping the puppy and get the cost for shipping. She told me she didn't think the puppy had the temperament to handle the flight to Canada. She then told me she was planning another litter and I said I would think about it. I wasn't too keen on the sire of the litter and decided not to take a puppy. Birgit said she would then send me my money back when she got her tax refund. Then she said her husband had cancer and I said I would wait until things got better for her. Then it was the economy, which I sympathized with. Now she doesn't even bother to return my emails. And she's had at least 1 more litter during this time and didn't bother to offer me a puppy, or use the proceeds of a sale to send me my money. She's also been showing dogs in Australia all this time and paying Professional Handlers to show her dogs. I have kept pretty quiet for 4 years because she has been in the breed for so many years and has bred some exceptional dogs but I just don't know what to do at this point. Being in a different country makes it impossible to do anything legally and their kennel clubs only get involved in registration matters.
