There is a charge on my March bill. It's $336.22.
The name for the charge is SNR fee. (No other explanation provided).
I had disputed this charge many times within the past two weeks.
Customer service gives different versions of why I was charged:
1. The claim comes from Assurant and they can't remove it. So, I should call Assurant and ask them to remove the charge.
I called Assurant and they confirmed they didn't send any fees and don't have any idea what this fee is. They confirmed I've paid off my claim with them in November. (It was $99). (I have the transcript of my chat with them).
2. It's for not-returned phones. Yesterday, I called Sprint, the representative confirmed that all the devices that were supposed to be returned were found in the warehouse. But instead of removing this fee, she told me the account "will be investigated" and this investigation will take "three to five business days". (I have to pay my bill on the 03/24).
! ATTENTION PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST NOW HAVING THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN !
got the exact same problem.
I think if figured it out though
its from a device that hasnt been returned or scanned in and being charged by Assurant, a global provider of risk management solutions, mainly focusing on the lifestyle and housing protection markets.
Same issue has happened to me.
the return label has no tracking so once it is in the mailbox it is gone.
I miss the old days when we could walk the phones to the store.

I just had this happen. Same thing, T-Mobile says that they cant remove it because it comes from Assurant. I call Assurant and yelled at the CS rep and she did look into it. She said that she verified Assurant has possession of the device based off the Fed Ex tracking number, but they have not scanned it in. They received it July 13th. Today is October 4th. Because they haven't scanned it in, it still shows missing, thus I needed to be charged. She said once it is scanned in, it will take a couple billing cycles, but I should receive a refund. Unbelievable, but at least they admitted to having the device in their possession. So I talked to T-Mobile and expressed my frustration and told them I would not be paying the fee or taxes associated, nor would I pay any late fees. The T-Mobile rep understood and agreed that I should not pay that portion. I had a transcript of the conversation emailed to me and hopefully this will resolve itself. But the whole cell phone insurance thing seems like a terribly run system that causes nothing but headaches.
The same thing happened to us. We traded my son’s old cracked phone for an upgrade to an IPhone as per the deal, but before this we had made a claim with Assurant for a replacement and now Assurant will not refund our money because we don’t have the cracked phone to send in. Makes absolutely no sense.
Hey have you sent back the old phone.? If not I would suggest sending back the old cracked phone and this should resolve the issue.
