Swan Insurance review: Cancellation of policy and refund 2

I have applied for an Insurance policy in December 2010 with an insurance agent named Ashwini from CIM life insurance Ltd...The agent explained only the benefits of the insurance policy to me but never mentioned if ever I was about to cancel the policy, I will not be fully refunded..Then within a year I have decided not to proceed with the policy and wanted to cancel the insurance for financial reasons. I called at their office and asked for a cancellation. Even this time they did not inform me that I wont get a full refund if I cancel the policy. After some 45 days I called at their office to enquire and they told me that my cheque was ready. I went to their office the next day and I was surprised to see at the amount on the cheque and even my
name was not well written on the cheque. I complained to the lady and it was at that time she told me the bitter truth..I would like to get the money I invested back as I have paid an amount of Rs 8, 990 and they are refunding me only Rs 749...Is this fair or the insurance companies are just trying to make money by robbing the people.
