Suzy Sweitzer, Realtor review: Poor service 1

Getting to know Suzy Sweitzer in the [protected] Colorado Horse Park Visitor’s Guide.

This article caused my mouth to drop open in shock.

Suzy was my realtor; she no longer is.

When I read “I really try to focus on service and making sure that my clients have everything they need…..” I recalled how Suzy would email 30-40 listings to me and tell me to go through them myself. The realtor I bought my last property from? She previewed every property beforehand. Suzy refused to educate me on potential neighborhoods until I had a contract on my place. It was imperative that I got this education because I was moving to a place I knew nothing about. Then, she became angry at me when she discovered that another realtor took the time to give me the education I needed, calling me "unethical." Her laziness is no reason to call me, her client, "unethical!"

When I read “When I’m marketing a property, I have a detailed plan…..” Really? Then why, after I asked Suzy to show me the detailed plan when I listed with her this VERY LAST TIME, did she refuse to show me a plan? Why, when I asked her if she was going to help me “stage” my home, she told me that “she doesn’t do that.” Well, no wonder my last place took a year to sell! Every other realtor I’ve met lately not only stages, but PROFESSIONALLY stages a home they have listed! Not only did Suzy NOT take professional pictures of my property, SHE USED MY PHOTOS, FROM PREVIOUS YEARS, BEFORE I’d landscaped it!

“She really targets which publications and websites that real horse people read.” Really? She had my property listed for 6 months and it went in none of them. After I shared my frustrations with my friends who had successfully sold their homes, did I learn (from THEIR realtors, not Suzy) about other video production companies and successful real estate websites.

And, her 20+ years of selling horse property? Its subjective. I began to see where her opinion of the property I was buying was way higher than when I tried to sell the same property later. When it took a year for my $600, 000 property to sell, it was MY fault for buying in that magic price range that takes longer to sell than very expensive or very cheap properties. Funny, she encouraged us to buy that very same property, as she did the next property. But, when it came time to sell them, they weren’t “easy to sell.”

You might ask me why I used Suzy more than once. Trust and loyalty (and my husband hates change). She has a way of making you think you’re a personal friend, and I trusted her to have my best interests in mind. Maybe it’s a sense of entitlement that she doesn’t HAVE to work hard anymore. Maybe she’s semi-retired and doesn’t care. Certainly, her customer service has fallen to rock bottom and I did not feel like a customer. Her assistant is inept and abusive, and Suzy makes excuses for her behavior.

Bottom line – Suzy is a transactional real estate agent who MIGHT have worked hard for her customers many years ago, but now rests on her semi-retired laurels. I will never use her again.
