We visited the Sunny Shores Cattery today to meet the kitten that we had placed a deposit on a month prior. My daughter and I were both bitten by an adult cat that was there. He was obviously in distress and had a serious eye infection. The bite actually broke my skin in two places and blood was dripping down my hand. Rachel saw this happening and did nothing to help me or even ask if I was okay. We saw several cats with eye infections including two nursing kittens. We were also disappointed to see that the babies were not separated from the adults and they swatted and hissed at the babies. One of the worst experiences ever! Left us heartbroken.
Desired outcome: Remove sick and aggressive cats, separate babies from adults

I got my cat from Sunny Shores in 2006. We drove to Florida the day before Rachel expected us, thinking we would get a hotel and pick up my little Claire the next day.
We decided we would rather pick up Claire and try to make some headway back home that night (7 hour drive). I called Rachel and she said it was ok to come right away. There was only an hour notice before we got there. The house was immaculate, which was amazing considering how many cats lives there.
All of the cats were happy and healthy.
Also, I highly doubt a cat came charging at you and your kid to bite you. It’s usually a reaction to something a human did inappropriately.
There's not much more in this world that gets to me more than a cyber bully. I don't even know this person or her "cattery", but I can tell you, she was probably never even notified of the bad review giving her a chance to defend herself. Online message boards such as these have no moral compass, but are looking for a place to garner ad revenue (yeah, you see that ad off to the side of these posts). Big name sites such as these that have a high Google rating only care about their own wallets, certainly not the character assassination and defamation of small businesses.

ComplaintsBoard.com explains that it is not responsible for verifying the validity of consumer complaints, providing responses, or notifying those on the receiving end of complaints. It also says that it will only remove a posted complaint if ordered to by a court. And here’s a great little nugget of effrontery: the complaint site says that it assumes that the writers of complaints have positive intents.

For the most part, the Internet is an incredibly enriching and powerful space. Unfortunately, there are some areas of the Internet that are less-than-positive, if not downright seedy – one of those being ComplaintsBoard.com. This particular company is operated by a foreign entity. It has a useless WHOIS record that shields the original owner’s information.
One of our friends told us that someone had written a negative review about Rachel, and I honestly couldn't believe it so I had to come see for myself. This woman must be talking about someone else. We got Po from her cattery in 2019 and he is hands down the sweetest most loving cat I've ever met. I hope she never stops breeding since pretty soon I'm gonna need another one! Thanks, Rachel, for making our family complete.
This is not a small home based cattery. The area is not even accessible from the home. You have to walk up an exterior stairs to get to this large room that had many rows of double stacked cages and more than twenty adults cats roaming around freely with the kittens and nursing mothers. So sad. Not to mention that most of them were sick. We choose not to support this type of practice.it is cruel and very sad. The police report has my testimony and photos of my bloody hand.
We got our kitten from Rachel in early 2021 and we couldn't have been more impressed with her and her cats. From the moment we walked in we were bombarded with kitties trying to get our attention. It was like cat heaven. Our guy, Zeus, is one of the best cats we've ever owned. So well socialized and fearless. We would recommend Rachel and Sunnyshores to anyone.
We are now on our 4th cat from Rachel! We got our first baby from her 15 years ago and our most recent just a couple of months ago. We love her and all her kitties!
I remember back in 2010 when I got my first cat named Jackson from Rachel. Now 11 years later I have 3 cats from Sunny Shores and have never regretted a day! I love allllllll of my babies and I cant thank Rachel enough for bringing them into my life and changing me forever. I have no idea how someone could write a review like this and it is clearly not true. This is NOT the behavior exhibited by Rachel or any of her cats. Maybe one should reconcider being honest in their reviews...
Read the police report it’s public record. This is a large cattery, the animals were sick and stressed and I think that’s cruel! I have every right to leave an honest opinion because these kinds of business pens Ned to be shut down.
ok "Tori G" how is someone supposed to find a public record when noone knows your name? How about you post your name, full address, DOB and SS# so we can all go search those public records... I'll be waiting..
I can't believe anyone would have anything negative to say about Rachel and her cats. She's been breeding for a very long time and is even a vet tech. We drove all the way from NC to get a kitten from her and she was nothing but helpful and knowledgeable through the whole process. she has even been instrumental in helping our elderly cat over some issues even our vet couldn't figure out.
Rachel is truly a blessing.
