Dealer never warned me about, after hard start, to leave my Stihl chainsaw idling during warm up. After start up, I went to hookup my lawn trailer and when I returned with it my $300 new saw was burned up. Plastic parts were melted, oil delivery system was destroyed, chain brake was not repairable. pent a lot of money tying to make it work, because Stihl would not do anything for me.
Now I am taking a chance running the semi repaired saw without a chain brake because a new one would be to expensive to buy.

I made a mistake not recording with photos, however pics can be made of unrepaired portion of damage if necessary.
Three years of it's been bugging me!

Desired outcome: Manufacturer acknowledgement of problem and replace damaged saw.

Dear Vickely,

Thank you for your reply. To me this was not regular maintenance. This MS 250 chain saw was less than 1 year and 6 months old and there was no reason this work had to be done in order for this MS 250 to operate properly. For sure I will tell my friends and church members not to buy your produce. Also this infor will be posted on line for everyone to see and and response.

Dear Mr. Hughes,

I received your letter in the mail about the service you received for your tune up and chain sharpening on your MS 250.

Please see items 7-10 below from our warranty policy.

Your saw was taken to the dealership for a tune up as well as a chain sharpening. This type of repair is regular maintenance and is not covered by warranty. If you have any complaints about the cost of the service received, please take that issue up with the dealer.

Thanks,

Trey Vickery
