Between December 2009 and February 2011 Ted Ulan and First Kansas Financial provided consulting services to St. John's Mortgage Recovery Community Development Corporation. Ted Ulan and First Kansas Financial were also asked to monetarily contribute to St. John's, the contributions to be derived from St. John's Mortgage Recovery clients. That was the model designed by the St. John's Board of Directors. Ted Ulan did not design this fee model.
Formal responses to Paul Gantt's home loan situation were made to the Hawaii Free Press by me, Ted Ulan, in St. John's Church's office in Passaic, New Jersey, with full knowledge of Mr. Gantt's mortgage scenerio having been provided in detail by me, Ted Ulan, to Father William C. Thiele. Father William C. Thiele was fully aware of Paul Gantt' Hawaii file. Father Thiele was also fully aware of the The Hawaii Free Press's interest in the Gantt file. I told him myself
St. John's ceased operations almost immediately after a pre-planned 1, 000-person seminar took place at Christ Church in Rockaway, New Jersey. St. John's ceased operations in light of my providing the church with the path, the contacts, and the procedures required to become HUD-certified. St. John's ceased operations with 100 interested Christ Church parishioners looking for help from St. John's. St. John's ceased operations with the process to HUD certificaiton properly aligned for them. St. John's ceased operations with full knowledge of the Paul Gantt Hawaii file.
I established a St. John's Mortgage Recovery after St. John's closed in a last-ditch attempt to try to figure out how to reassemble the broken pieces of a broken, far-reaching enterprise left by St. John's Church. St. John's reached too far, too fast. This being said, Father Thiele was fully aware of the Paul Gantt file.

Consent Judgment filed and obtained October 5, 2011
The Attorney General entered into a consent judgment with First Kansas Financial LLC and Ted Ulan, the managing partner. The defendants engaged in deceptive acts and practices and the unauthorized practice of law regarding mortgage audits of homes in foreclosure. The consent judgment required the defendants to pay $4, 950 in restitution, $5, 000 in civil penalties and $5, 000 in investigative fees. The defendants are also enjoined from engaging in any consumer transactions in the state of Kansas.
This guy is still going strong, now in Kansas City, MO with Keller William Realty, and a new name - Ted Ulan IHDE.
Despite the church ending his employment on Feb 11, 2010, Ted Ulan of 2826 Wetlake Drive, Emporia Kansas, continued many months after to represent himself as an employee of St. John's Episcopal Church Mortgage Recovery CDC, as their "Negotiations Coordinator, " not only on the internet, but in many (including unrelated) writtien communications, arrogantly using their own stationary in the process. The "relationship" he established was his own personal agenda, an attempt to have the Church step in to strong-arm his mortgage lender, Chase Bank, to stop their foreclosure on a property he simply chose to stop paying, though he was and still is fully capable of doing so. This information came from he, himself, to a number of his working associates who have shared it information with others. It has been forwarded to the proper authorities.
We would submit to anyone concerned, to investigate what Christ Church of Rockaway, NJ also says about your "altruistic, honorable and 'Christ-like' offerings". As well, your lecture at their church, posted on You Tube, was forcibly removed due to copyright infringement, since misrepresenting yourself long after your relationship with St john's Episcopal crumbled, and a cease and desist imposed. You continued, and still do continue in 'particular' venues, to represent yourself as their "negotiator". Fr. Thiele and his church had only honorable and compassionate intentions, with no ulterior motives of any personal gain. His mission has always been to help people, especially children, keep warm and safe.
From Ted Ulan:
There was $7, 000 "PREDATORY LENDING FEE" collected at St. John's Church on church grounds, in the church building, without the knokwledge nor the approval of Ted Ulan. Ted Ulan expressed his complete and total disapproval of this $7, 000 fee to Father Thiele, who refused to act. Ted Ulan advocated for a full refund of this flawed fee. Failing to follow the advice of the most respected elected NJ representatives and state officials, the relationships with whom Ted Ulan coordinated for this church, and getting the recommedned HUD-certification is one thing. Ted Ulan can only go to so many federal officials, gain their support, and push the cause for the church, which Ted Ulan did successfully for St. John's. Approving the collection of a $7, 000 'Predatory Lending Defense Fee" on church grounds, going to an attorney who was under investigation... That fails every test imagineable. It is also simply 100% immoral. Phony Christianity. And "for-profit". You can't advocate for minorities on one hand, and oversee a $7, 000 "predatory lending fee" charged to a minority homeowner at the church on the other hand. If someone needed help, it was Paul Gantt in Hawaii. And St. John's was well aware of the Gantt file.
A quote -
"The Ulans do this ministry while in considerable difficulties of their own, including trying to save a house they love by moving in with parents and renting that house."
The Ulans had Fr. Thiele believe would be homeless, forced to live with Mr. Ulan's parents in Passaic, NJ, all the while living in their palatial home in Emporia KS, purchased with 2 equity loans garnered from said property they claimed not to be able to occupy. This very home is being short sold while the Ulans still continue to live in their lovely home in Emporia KS.
To suggest Fr. Thiele did anything wrong is unconscionable.

On February 11, 2011 the Board of Directors unanimously voted to end this ministry, separate from St. John's Church, which began December 1st, 2009. During that time it succeeded in doing some good work for many in peril of foreclosure. The decision to close down was based upon the lack of money to subsist, and upon our people having become fatigued from shabby treatment by lenders and the worries of some clients.Our Operation Client Care has been returning files, giving guidance and in some cases recommending alternate advocacy. We have discovered that on March 2nd, 2011 Ted Ulan of 2826 Westlake Emporia, KS, who was formerly associated with St. John's Mortgage Recovery CDC here in Passaic, NJ, incorporated a nonprofit of the same name in Emporia, Kansas, and at the same address as First Kansas Financial, LLC, which is 317 Commercial St., Emporia, KS. There is no connection whatsoever between Mr. Ulan's businesses under the names of First Kansas Financial or St. John's Mortgage Recovery CDC (Emporia, Kansas) and our ministry here. Mr. Ulan has been asked to cease any references and to remove all logos and terminology that would imply relationship with us, whether on his web resources, correspondence, client forms or any other media. We have also asked him to post a disclaimer, "Not affiliated with St. John's Mortgage Recovery CDC of Passaic, New Jersey" on his communications.
