Dr. howard berg, @ first, he came across pleasant, professional, but that ended quickly. After making me feel extremely uncomfortable & actually, physically hurting both my nose & ears w/ whatever tools he was using, he then proceeded to charge me $335.00 for these rude, awkward 10 minutes.

So, my experience started with an hour wait in the waiting room, another 1/2 hour in the patient room. Tools pushed / shoved up my nose, in my ears. Never did he explain what he was preparing to do w/ these tools or even what these tools did.

He, in the 1st 2 minutes of meeting him, suggested surgery. Any doctor that suggests any kind of surgery in the first 5 minutes of meeting them, especially if it's not life threatening, in my opinion, is not a very caring or detail oriented doctor. These are not qualities i want to have in any of my doctors. So, all of this for $335.00.

I would not & will not refer this doctor or this office to anyone, ever!

Signed,

Disgusted & frustrated

This experience is vastly different from my experience, my family's experience, and the experience of others in my neighborhood, all of whom adore Dr. Berg.

Maybe the complainant above did experience pain during the examination, but it is not surprising that Dr. Berg came to a quick diagnosis based on his findings and past experience. He looks youthful, but Dr. Berg has been an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at New York University Medial Center since 1985 and participates in the Otolaryngology Surgical Resident Training Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Over the last 25 years, Dr. Berg has superbly treated my children, my wife, my elderly father, and me for ear, nose, and nearby subcutaneous problems.

I find that Dr. Berg does not engage in unnecessary diagnostic procedures whose results would not change what the treatment would be. He always explains what any diagnostic procedure is looking to find and how that would steer treatment. Maybe this is the result of being a teacher of upcoming doctors and similarly treating patients like equally intelligent people.

Dr. Berg is sensitive to his patients as people and really cares about improving their well being.
