SonderMind review: Billing Issue

This is my third issue with Sondermind billing and I have made 3 attempts to contact them over the last month with no response.

I recently received charges for the full session fee for four session dates back in 2024: March 14 2024, March 21 2024, April 2 2024, and April 11 2024. I had active insurance with a policy covering those services during that time, meaning that I should only have owed the copay, which I believe was paid back at the time of service, almost two years ago.

I reached out to BCBS today to get some info on their end as Sondermind refuses to answer my outreaches. BCBS confirmed that no claims were ever submitted for any of those dates, or any date at all during 2024. I fear that more charges are to come since they seem to just not be submitting claims for services.

This has happened before, both where they charged me for sessions where claims were never submitted or, where claims were submitted incorrectly. This took forever to resolve with constant outreach from myself and the provider I was seeing at the time.

This feels like a complete scam. They bulk charge you the full session fee years after the date of service with NO way to get in contact with them, in hopes that you'll just pay to make it go away. I am being charged over $600 for sessions that should have only been a copay of $10 each and with no communication, I fear there are more sessions from 2 years ago that will pop up with charges in the future. I had active BCBS coverage during those dates of service (though I am no longer on that plan).

Everything that I have learned about this company is that it is an incredibly predatory scam for both clients and providers. I would advise anyone not to sign up with them as a therapist or as a client.

Please: Respond to my outreach. Correctly submit claims to my insurance on file for the DOS you are charging me for. Please detail any other sessions with outstanding claims, and correctly submit those as well. Stop trying to charge my card for full session fees when you have not even submitted those claims to insurance. Then please close my account, I would like to have this wrapped up and never hear from you again.
