I had paid to have lap band placed. Planned for out of state in mexico related to costs. $30, 000 here and $6, 000 there. Any ways the first time I had the procedure the band slipped the very next day and had to have removed. Several thousands of dollars to have removed. THEN they promise to redo the lap band related to the slippage, so went back and immediately after the procedure it slipped. They refused to remove the band unless I paid cash. I couldn't even keep down my own salivia. DO NOT GO TO MEXICO OR HAVE Dr. Sergio Verboonen PLACE A LAP BAND!

i havent had the surgury yet after reading these comments now im scared but i will talk to ms sherri about this cause i have over 60 friends that has had this done and all are doing great
Please note that Sheri Burke and her husband write the positive reviews. I know Sheri and I have a recorded call of how she really is. DO NOT GO TO CAN CUN WITH SHERI BURKE. THEY WILL HARM YOU AS THEY DID ME. They jusy want your money and have no idea what they are doing.
Absolutely. Dr. Verboonen get Roux-en-Y on me in the next day I failed my leak test. He took me back into surgery but never fix the leak. I ended up in ICU for two months on life-support and had to learn how to walk again etc.
While my wife and I were in Cancun at Clinica Victoria, there were also three other women there for surgery. None of us had any logistical problems and all of us were presented the consent forms, which the surgical patients signed. Both complaints above appear to be unfounded or at least a major exaggeration of what really happend. Sheri and Erick of IPF are very good at what they do and they only work with capable and talented surgeons.

SLANDER IS NOT OK! Dr Verboonen is an amazing surgeon and just because you left out your scar tissue in your medical past and he refused to do the procedure probably saved your life. I had surgery by this same surgeon and he is very skilled and Sheri was open and honest about everything. I was even given upon request a video of my surgery! What dr in the USA would do that? NONE! Your a sleeze for writing these horrible things
That is not slander! It is the truth. He killed me three times. Two months on life-support. Thank God for medical Jets and the good all United states of America.
I also scheduled a procedure through Sheri Burke of International Patient Facilatators with Dr. Sergio Verboonen. My dealings with them were a disaster. I arrived at the Victoria Surgical Center on Saturday June 4, 2011. My procedure was supposed to be at 10:00 AM, but at 12:00 noon I was still waiting as Dr. Verboonen schedules several surgeries each day and was running behind. I should have left when they drew blood by inserting a butterfly catheter and letting my blood drip into a test tube. The facilitator Sheri Burke took my picture in a hospital gown in bed and posted it with my name on facebook without my conscent. No one reviewed the procedure with me, the possible complications, or outcomes. I was taken to surgery and put to sleep. I woke up in my room about 45 minutes later and was told by my husband that the Doctor wasn't going to do the surgery because I had scar tissue from a past surgery. The thing that makes me really mad is not that he didn't feel he had the skill to do the surgery, but that when I asked if my payment of $5, 500.00 would be refunded he told me that the cost of the surgical center and anesthesia was more than I paid. I seriously dobut this. My husband also found the surgical consent in my room which has been left there accidentally. Sheri Burke signed my signature on all of the conscents. I never even saw them. I personally doubt the safety of this Doctors skill and ethics. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to go to a better doctor. For my $5, 500.00 surgical fee, $800.00 hotel bill, and $800.00 air fare all I have to show is an ugly 1 inch scar by my navel.
