A few weeks before May 6, I ordered a Micro Pro 2 4th Axis gimbal and counterweight set from ScottyMakesStuff.com. They also have a Youtube page promoting their products. It is a gimbal to use with pocket cameras and Gopros. I received the wrong product and wrong accessories, which I made them aware of immediately. Realizing their mistake, in an email they said, "we'll give that to you as our gift to you." They seemed like they were trying to make up for their error, and seemed willing to take a loss and then sending me the correct order. Fine. Now, a gift is a free item. They said "gift". I have it in their email. I said fine, but I still needed the original item that I paid for and had not received. They refused to discuss it. And we're talking about $100 for heaven's sake, not thousands of dollars. Then they changed their tune and said I had to return what they previously said was a gift in order for me to receive my proper order. I refused, saying no, I was not going to send anything back because they said the first incorrect order was a gift to make up for my inconvenience, and I was not going to pay anything else. I was holding them to their word. I have dealt with Amazon many times, and sometimes I receive a slightly defective item that might still work. Companies have told me to keep the first item and then they sent me a perfect working order item. But not ScottyMakesStuff. The wife of the owner of the website, whom I was emailing back and forth with, called me a "full arsehole" because of my insistence that they honor their agreement to the "gift". This type of language is grossly unacceptable for any business to use on their customers. This is the most unprofessional conduct I have ever had the misfortune to experience. I told them their conduct was inappropriate as a company and as human beings. Their reply to that was that I was the abusive one getting all offended by them. I enclose the invoice for the products that I have never yet received.

Desired outcome: Shut their website down or at least suspend or remove their Youtube page

The woman at the customer service said they needed my social security number so that the freight company could send the order from their warehouse...!?!

I asked for a refund, then she went silent. I can take the loss, but this seems like a phishing scan to me.

Stay away from these amateurs. Many people are complaining and had a terrible customer experience. No refund possible for some. Cheap quality build. Just rude and ignoring you. They also delete all negative feedback on their social media instead of improving their business.

Yeah just had an awful customer experience situation with them as well. Their product snapped after 10 min of use of no fault from me. They basically said “not our fault”. So now I just have to eat the cost. Total bummer.
