In September til October of 2022, a big EMT and health certification company in Houston called Roxell EMT, a man who's name is Marcos "Beni" Benavides had a sexual affair with a student who graduated high school at the time and this was only a few months after we celebrated her 18th birthday when she joined his course.
This affair happened TWO TIMES in the restroom of the Gulf Freeway location office building of the company.
The owner Ade Olanrewaju told us when we found out about this that actions will be taken, and my niece has a few friends who took his courses since then and they noticed and heard that only after being gone for about a month from his position after his affairs with the student, he was given a higher position. We're trying to get the investigator to find out if this is true. Regardless this man is still working there!
The company uses Discord to have the teachers talk to the students about deadlines and assignments and this instructor used the direct message feature to set up meetings with my niece.
Our family tried reporting this incident, but nothing really happened other than the one month suspension according to the people we know who took his classes after the what happened.
Marcos Benavides is STILL employed by the director Ade Olanrewaju even though she told my family that he would be handled and he is likely sitting in a higher position than he was before the affairs with my niece while STILL having access to the same Discord features that let him privately message his students. It seems that the company has been keeping this situation pretty hush hush since. Who knows what this man is doing with other students.
According to the website there are 4 Roxell branches in and around Houston: Katy, Gulf Freeway/Pasadena, Woodlands, Sugarland. There is also 1 in Corpus Christi.
If you HAVE TO take courses from Roxell EMT for whatever reason, ask questions to the owner/director Ade first with any concerns!
I'm not sure if parents can ask for access to their kids' Discord if you get permission from them, but it does not hurt to ask if you are concerned.
