We have recently bought a ragdoll kitten from Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls breeder as first time pet owner and she made sure we went through the worse case a first timer can experience.
- She sold a show kitten for a price of a breeder one.
- She promised TICA certification which we haven't received after so many months.
- She lied throughout the process and avoid meeting us as much as she could, and never kept most of her promises.
- She is totally unprofessional and never worked things out with us to get a proper pet. The entire time she gave us, to meet her and pick up the cat, was no longer than 40 minutes.
- She is mistaking cats for chickens and throws food on the floor for her kitties to eat.
- She never advised us to see the cat before neutering it which made it impossible to pick another cat. in those 40 minutes in her house we made more bonds with other kittens and barely even see ours. He was so shy to get out from under the couch which we thought it was because he was neutered, but his conditions still to some extend persist.
She does seem to take advantage of the first time and un-experience buyers and we felt responsible to share this with others and warn them about such breeders.

I purchased my kitten from rock creek in January of 2021 and of Feb 1 2023 my kitten is no longer with us. She had anxiety, digestive issues, & eventually fit of aggression where I was advised to put her down. When I purchased her she has a bump on her head in which I ask about and was never answers but was told by the vets to watch this. I paid for a show quality kitten and expected her to have a long life 2 years and 3k later I have nothing.

Jane Balter from Rock Creek Ragdolls scammed me $8000, and much more $$ from many others, go check Rock Creek Ragdols on Yelp!
I've been blocked by her.No sending any money to her!
I've called the police in!Please be alert!

Rockcreek Ragdolls isn’t TICA certified. I went to the website today and looked for myself.

Hi there
show kittens and breeders are most often the same price so I don't see the trouble here?
Tica papers do take some time if U work out side of the home, you also have no control over TICA time standards either.I submitted slips for my litter 6 weeks ago and they still are not here! I work outside my home and have a family along with my Fur kids, 40 minutes is alot of time when U are meeting more than 1 person each week or have family to take care of ect.I also spend time aswering emails and calls.
I do not know how well she does monitarily but my husband is always saying it costs us more to Breed Ragdolls than we ever get back.He has not even thought about factoring in the time I spend with email questions and phone calls...if he did Id be in BIG trouble :O))
You have not said wht is wrong with your kitten?
I am New to Breeding compared to many but worry all the time about people being upset with our Fur kids and we only have 3 Girls and 1 Fella. My Vet can tell You we do All we can and still I wonder is it enough?

Hello. I purchased a cat from Jane some years ago. He lasted 5 years. He had digestive issues and had to be on a special, very expensive diet. Unfortunately, during one of his digestive episodes, we learned that he had one large kidney. Eventually, with all the care we gave him and vet visits, his kidney began to fail and we had to put him down. I think I got a cat with known issues from the start. He was off from the beginning, but we still loved him and gave him the best care. Spoiled him to death, in reality. I know breeding cats can be a crazy thing, however, if breeders were able to take x-rays to make sure all functioning organs were there (especially at the prices they go for, it will help the buyer get a healthier cat or purchase one in full disclosure if they chose. I would love to purchase another Ragdoll, but honestly I am scared to go through another health issue. It was tough to put our boy down at such a young age. Just my two cents.

Did the vet say an x-ray before the time of purchase would have helped spot the issue? I am always looking for new ways to help give my kittens the best start possible.

I know most breeders only have a 2-3 year health guarantee, but personally I would’ve replaced your cat with another kitten in the hopes to ease the pain. 5 years is such a short time, especially if he already had problems from the start. I feel like as a breeder, we have to do whats honorable and replace the kitten if the owner Received a kitten that was anything less than perfect. Even though my contract clearly states no refunds and my health guarantee does not cover FIP, I still refund vet costs for minor things and I replaced a kitten who died of FIP (there’s no scientific evidence to pinpoint where this mutation comes from or why, so it’s never labeled as the breeders fault), but still. I care about my adopters first.

Maybe find a breeder who cares about her ragdoll families and is honest in her breeding and business.
