Rightprojectors.co.uk review: They took my credit card payment on 1st April and I have never received the item 29

I ordered a radiation detector for my son in northern Japan on 1st April. They took my credit card payment on 1st April and I have never received the item. Last week they said that they had not received payment even though it was appearing on my credit card statement received mid April. They are advertising free next day delivery - what a joke.

This company (joke of a company) have had us all off totally!

I too had the same experience after buying the full projector system and 5 year warranty at an extra £39.99!

I have wrote endless letters emails you name it to this company.
I am in the process of this claim back with my bank RBS, but still waiting I hope I get my money back.

I have found out that this company has now got another website called projectorsector.com, has anyone else had any joy elsewhere I have tried trading standards, what doe everyone think about watchdog if we got enough complaints which am sure we would watchdog might act on it. Thanks Ste C

JPT123 here from earlier posts. Finally got my payment back into my account today £169.99. Took a lot of effort chasing my own bank to get the charge back under way and processed and forms filled but thankfull it's all worked out and my moneys come back. I did have email from Danielle confirming they were going to refund my money which i think is the key to why my money did get returned in the end

Joe - I am in exactly the same boat as you. I spoke to Consumer Direct and was given good advice. Write to them giving them two weeks or so to pay. Once that time elapses you should be able to claim through your credit card, I hope.

Caught too - bought the Technics projector and it was rubbish - totally unfit for purpose. Posted it back (Another cost overhead) with a return number - now haven't heard anything more and can't get in touch with them. Site offline and phones go to disconnect. Crooks. Would like to know if anyone gets some justice - and how!

Me too. Though I received the Technica projector/screen pack (late) it fell far far short of the advertised spec and useless for any kind of video projection owing to very poor definition. On contacting them was promised a returns slip but nothing came and they subsequently did not answer their phone or reply to my emils etc so I'm in the same boat - £319 out of pocket with a load of unwanted kit.
I've reported it to Mastercard and trading standards but have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get any recompense

I purchased a Technic HD-500, it came months after its delivery date I paid extra for, and after some prompting, and complaining to the consumer rights direct.gov they finally sent it to me. Then the light filer became faulty and I filled in the 3-year Warranty form and sent it back to the RightProjectors address including a letter explaining that I either wanted the projector repaired and sent back or a full refund. This was now almost two months ago and no sign of communication at all from the company. Not to mention the website is down and the phones never answer. This is a disgrace and I hope we all get justice with this.

I too purchased the technics package, originally ordered back in March. I eventually received the goods in late June and initially all was well. Within 2 weeks the picture was dull and grainy. Both Danielle and Andrew replied promptly to my emails and agreed to refund the projector alone as I had fastened the screen etc to the ceiling. I posted the projector back at my own cost for a refund of £149.99 on July 19th and have heard nothing since. I will call Consumers Direct tomorrow but can anyone advise me where I stand with my credit card? I paid for the package originally by mastercard but I received those and it is the refund I am now short of.

I have a similar story in that I bought the technics projector package (last day advert) in March. It eventually arrived in late June and initially worked quite well. Within two weeks however the picture was grainy and dull. I contacted Danielle and Andrew who were very quick to reply and offer a refund for a faulty item. I negotiated with them to keep the screen etc as it was already fixed to the ceiling and get a refund of £149.99 for the projector. I sent it back (at a cost of £22) and have been unable to contact them since. I will phone Consumers Direct etc tomorrow but can anyone advise me on my rights through my credit card as I did actually receive the goods, but am now due a refund for goods I returned.

Just to update my comments above...
Visual Tronic/Right Projectors etc have now ceased there 0191 telephone number and this line is dead. The [protected] number has been constantly engaged all week. I have found out that a company called Sky Market Communications manage the line and a very helpful person told me that there phone is not off the hook but it is a problem that they - Visual Tronic/Loudico/Right Projectors etc are aware of - to me intentionally avoiding calls from angry customers.

I have also found out that this number is registered to a company/individual called Ross Quinn

I have searched on the electoral register and found that there are only 3 Ross Quinns regsitered in the Newcastle area.

This company also trades as Visual Tronic and Loudico (apologies if i am reiterating the above) as is clear from all comments DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! I placed an order with them on the 14th June which never appeared (next day delivery) and when i chased was told various lies eg its been sent this morning, will be with you tomorrow etc. At this point i had checked them out and realised they were complete fraudsters so i rang and asked for a refund. Again, told various lies each time i called - its been transfered today, should show on your account in 10 days etc etc - surprise surprise it has never showed up and i doubt it will. There phone is now constantly engaged and has been all week so i suspect they have now done a bunk and will soon pop up trading as another company - if i every find out who i will be posting there details all over the internet to stop as many people as possible for falling for these scammers.
I am shortly to take this up with our credit card company and will be informing trading standards.

I also had an email from Right Projectors this morning 25/7/11 saying exactly the same, that they had gone into administration, an administrator had also signed, not Danielle as in the past. I will now contact Mastercard, who'd said to give the company thirty days to refund my money, to advise them of this last development, hopefully they may be able to help.

further to my above post - after sending that email this morning to rightprojectors I recieved one back saying : Unfortunately this company has gone into Administration. To claim your money back you will need to launch a chargeback through your bank.
It was sent from their sales@rightprojectors.co.uk email address but this time instead of being signed by Adam or Danielle it was signed by Administrator.

Newcastle Trading standards replied to me advising that I initially need to speak to Consumer Direct at www.consumerdirect.gov.uk or phone [protected]. Consumer Direct advised that and as rightprojectors had emailed me confirming they would refund my money under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations they had 30 days within which to do this. I've sent rightproj this in email and Consumer direct said to do this is a letter with Royal mail tracking to their registered business add which I have done today. If nothing after this then consumer direct said to call them back and they'll get local trading stanards involved. This i shall do and I'll also get the police involved. I will keep updating my progress

I too have been had. Purchased projector on 27th June by card payment. Cancelled very next day on 28th June as old projector started to work again. Received email confirmation from Adam that order canx and refund on its way 3-5days. 5 days later no refund so emailed again and Danielle replied saying would process that day take another 3-5 days. 5 days later notihgn so emailed again demanding same day payment. Danielle emailed next day to say no longer have access to their account. I purchased on debit card and spoke to my bank who are sending me a charge back form to complete in order to get my money back. £169.99 is how much I paid. Website is now OFFLINE telephone numbers [protected] & [protected] click off immediately. [protected] mobile is answered by Indian/Pakistan man who just says its a private number. I have just emailed trading standards and will get the Police involved if necessary. Will post update when trading standards reply to me

I too bought a HD Technic Projector on 24/6/2011 from Right Projectors advertised as 'one day only' offer.Delivery was delayed as they said they were out of stock, I'd asked if I could return it if it was not suitable and was told that once I'd received it I would have to let them know immediately if I intended to return it and give a reason.Received the projector a week later, tried it the next day & wasn't fit for purpose so informed them of my intention to return it, they'd said I would need a 'Returns Number' which took two days to give me this number, the projector was returned & received by them within the 7 days returns period.I'd sent it via Parcelforce & so have a tracking number, on checking the projector was received exactly within the 7 day period and the tracking number gives the time they received it & who also signed for it.I emailed to ask when to expect my refund but got no reply, I tried phoning them on each of the 5 telephone numbers I have for Right Projectors, but no reply from any of them .One of the 0845 numbers them gave me an alternative number of [protected], this then went to voice mail.I now have had an email from Danielle saying that they have 'a financial problem' & I will have to make a 'charge back' claim from my bank/credit card, I paid by Mastercard & have been in touch with my creditcard company, they say to give Right Projectors 30 days to refund my money, at the time of speaking to the credit card company I hadn't received the information of the 'financial problem' I had that after speaking to the credit card co.I am now going to ring Trading Standards in Newcastle to see what they can do & also go back to Mastercard who had said they may be able to help me.I wish I'd read ll these write ups before I ordered the projector, I'd spoken to Right Projector a few times before ordering & they were very helpful (they would be wouldn't they) If anyone is successful in contacting the company or gets their money back please let me know. The site is still Off Line.I must add that my husband & I are going up to Durham on the 29th July for a family party, which I mentioned on my email to Danielle, I also said we intended to call at both premises, UNIT 25, 58, LOW FRIAR STREET, NEWCASTLE, TYNE & WEAR, NE1 5UE, &UNIT 11D, OAKWAY COURT, MEADOWFIELD IND. EST. DURHAM, DH7 8XD, this I think is why I received a reply from Danielle!

Hi,

I'm the latest sucker for their scam website.

I bought a HD Technic projector on the 8th July for £149.99, payment was taken immediately. Unfortunately I used my debit card so I can't even cancel the payment. After 10 days of hearing nothing I phoned (no answer) and emailled. 'Danielle' emailed back to say I would receive the projector that day (18th July). Nothing arrived, I sent an email asking for the shipping company details and consignment number. No reply.

Checked back on website to get their number again and guess what - Rightprojectors.co.uk is now showing a SITE OFFLINE page. There is no phone number on their 'invoice'.
Does anyone have a phone number for this company? There are so many complaints about this company - Loudico - etc etc. Has anyone got anywhere with Trading Standards? Is there any possibility of a joint action against this company.

I would be interested to hear from any of you about how you got on.

OK, wish I had read these comments first. I bought a radiation detector earlier - 10th June and now 20th, so with free next day delivery - I finally have found the answer.
Don't know if I can get the money back?

A week after placing the order and being charged and after contacting police, trading standards, the company responsible for building the web site (I think they are the same people) and posting on here and other places, a weird thing happened. A projector turned up. This is still clearly a scam site. They have clearly got word of the complaint and attempted to silence me (Visa will only provide a refund and therefore a charge back on the company if no product turns up within 15 days). So what's the Technic HD500 like then? Well first thing to note is its not exactly the same as the one in the photo. There's no scart for a start but it does have the HDMI which is the reason I wanted one. I already own a decent low end Sony projector so how does this compare? Well basically it fails in every count. Its crap.

Here's the advert from the site and why its a pack of lies.

"The latest Technic HD500 full 1080p with HDMI and SCART inputs. This is certainly no inferior LED low-brightness machine, this projector wins awards for a reason. This HD Ready multi-use projector is perfect for home cinema and business use with a fantastic 2, 400 lumen brightness and 3000:1 contrast ratio giving powerfully sharp images up to 150" ! HD resolution of 1080p this projector is certainly the ultimate projector of today."

Its not 1080p! It outputs at 1024 x 768 and is definitely 4:3 aspect. It may be able to take a 1080p signal coming in which is the definition of HD Ready but the ad states its "Full 1080p and scart inputs". Neither of these points are true. It also claims to be "no inferior LED low brightness machine". True its not LED but the claimed 2400 lumens is rubbish. I used the manual setting on my digital camera to take a photo of the output from this device and also from my 1200 lumen Sony projector. If I set the camera for a normal photo of the Sony screen and then switch to the Technic then the image hardly renders. Its something like 1/3rd of the brightness and the contrast is pathetic.

""AS SEEN ON TV" HD500 is the hot spoken about deal of the year! "
Have you seen it on TV? Try searching the internet and you'll see that only this company and another related company sell it so good luck getting a replacement bulb elsewhere.

"With it's amazing built-in TV tuner, and ability to display all digital networks such as Freeview SKY, NTL, CABLE. "
It has a TV tuner but don't bother in the UK as we no longer have analogue transmitters and this device does not have a digital receiver. It will only display digital networks if you plug it in to a digital box that you already have via HDMI (remember no scart and the HDMI is pointless as it only displays 1024 x 768 anyway).

"Got kids? Play Games? Perfect, because the Technic can be used for PS3, XBOX and NINTENDO. Let's also not forget the main wow factor with this high tech projector - Movies! Simply plug into your DVD player or laptop and experience super high definition resolutions, giving you the feeling you truly are in the movie! Just imagine all those DivX, MPEG Videos you can now watch on a massive 2M wide screen!"

At 2 metres the brightness is poor so prepare a dark room (like pitch black) and no you wont watch high definition. You will watch a low definition output of your high definition dvd. And that wow factor - What is that? Wow, this is ###? - Or is it Ow factor as you trip over in the pitch black room?

"This projector is also perfect for business presentations using Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, or Word. Most Projectors will have an average bulb life of 2000 hours, and you'll be buying a replacement bulb each year at an average cost of £300! With the latest technology used in the Technic, bulb life is a massive 8, 000 Hours and replacement bulbs are only £24.99! (Subject to our special offer price) "

The bulb life in the manual is 6000 hours with guarantee for 3000 and you'll never find a replacement anywhere. And you better optimise those business presentations for 1024 x 768 or your screwed.

Anyway, all this talk of the projector is probably pointless as you can only buy it from this site and it will probably never turn up unless you contact Police, trading standards etc. and cause a lot of fuss.

In short, keep saving and buy a bargain from one of the legitimate sites, Richer Sounds, Comet, Currys, PC World etc.

We also have received poor service from this company. We ordered one product and received another. We tried to contact them by email, fax, phone and using their online form and have received no reply.

I suggest that you contact the local trading standards authority with your complaint:

I named my user name rightprojectors.co.uk in the hope that it will help people to find this post easier. The company also trades as www.rightprojectors.com as well.

Note that the web site offers special offers that look really interesting and make you click them as its the "LAST DAY OF THE OFFER". It is not. The offer does not exists. If you doubt me then go back tomorrow and you will see that this is now the last day. The offer backs this up by printing the day on the page. This is a very simple trick you can do with a simple script. There will always be just 1 left! You better click that button before you check out the website or the item may no longer be available! Typical scam tactic!

The website is a scam. Nothing but a static web site with a shop on it.
If you order you will get an invoice which states VAT @ 15% which the UK has not had for years. Shows how old the scam is. Also no vat reg number.
If you pay by debit card then your bank will not be able to stop payment as its a guaranteed payment.
The hosting company is fasthosts with the site hosted on a Dedipower server. These companies are not intested in doing anything about it.
The web site is clearly owned and operated by www.VisualSoft.co.uk who are a web site design company based just around the corner from the business premises - (check the whois record for rightprojectors.co.uk)
And what about the business premises? Well apparently this is a coffee shop called Strickland and Holt in tarm, Teeside.

He3re's the whois data. The other two sites are .com and something else I cant remember right now .org I think

I called VisualSoft and spoke to Beth (probably a made up name) and she was very obstructive.
