if you are thinking about getting a pup from TBC Goldens in NC., think again. The owner is crazy. Don't do it. Our 8 week old pup caught a virus which may or may not been caused at birth. She was awful to deal with. Don't buy her pups! She is a crazy person! Buyer beware!

Our puppy experienced some type of virus which was not the breeders fault. They were willing to give us a new dog but things worked out with our puppy. I became angry when the breeder said she would not assign our dogs micro-chip to us. A lot of this was based on miscommunication. I really do believe that this breeder has the best intentions and means well. Our 13 week old pup is beautiful and is doing great. I'd definitely consider them again for a new pup. When our dog became ill emotions run high. Not sure how the dog contracted the virus. Spent $5000 at NCSU Vet school but again she is 100% now. I am trying to delete my review as it is now inaccurate.

I made a contact about puppies listed for sale by the person listed above on puppy find. The email was answered and signed by lori. She did talk about the puppies but to make a long story short she tried to scam me and another breeder by trying to get a deposit on an imported dog she said they had gotten three weeks ago and needed to sell. She told the other breeder she was getting a divorce and needed to sell the dog. She told me she needed to sell the dog because of person problems with him. I told her I would not buy a dog where divorce was an issue. She said they had been together since they were 16 and divorce would never happen but she was moving back west.
The other breeder had an appointment set up for sat., may 16, 2015 to see the imported stud dog and a female puppy she said she had for sale and listed on puppy find. However, lori (Who is actually “the notorious scammer leah winkler”) would not return the message sent to her by the other breeder and the breeder was wondering why she would not return her messages since she had made an appointment to see the imported stud dog of course, the reason being leah posing as lori, did not actually have the imported english golden retriever stud she said she needed to sell. I do not know if they even have the litter of puppies they have posted for sale on puppy find.
I searched the web, found out who the woman actually was. She became furious when I asked her if her name was actually leah and furious because I alerted the other breeder and told her to beware of doing business with the woman. The woman called me having a fit and has threatened me with all kind of horrible words… sending me email after email with all kinds of garbage, then she apologized, acted like nothing happened and starting trying to sell the dog to me again? Other people that have posted complaints about her say that she is a mental case. She needs to be put in jail and committed to a mental intuition for evaluation and locked up for good or sent back to jail.
She has threatened to post bad stuff about me on [redacted], using all kinds of horrible words. All the bad four letter words and more.in her last email to me she has threatened my life by saying, “good thing I know your address and don't work a job and can travel the us as I want too. Lol! Rotflmao! Too bad, pay backs are a f…… b…. Just like you! Do you know what mafia is? Hahaha, lol! Too bad you have to prove it, lol!
The phone number she called me from was [protected]. I did a reverse phone look up and the phone [protected] is listed as belonging to winkler, tyler in hickory, nc~queried @ wed, 13 may 2015 02:26:00 -0400 I also found a tyler scott winkler on a web search that has a relative named lea winkler. This woman is using the names, lori, leah and lea. She has to keep changing names, kennel names and web sites to be able to continue her fraud and scams. The web site she is now using is www.tbcgoldens.com/
I do not know if her son actually typed the message… but listed below is the message sent to me from the same email address [protected]@...com that was used in answering my first message to her about the puppies posted for sale on puppy find.

These people are extremely filty mouthed. Now stands to reason, if you back out of a sale, as this message says, a person would not have the dog in their possession to sell to someone else. This woman lies so much she is totally confused about what she even says.

I messaged brian and asked him why she would email him about me. Brain messaged me back and said… I don't know why the lady thinks I care what she says about you? I told her she was nuts. She told me she would drag my name though the mud. Now 6 weeks later she writes me about you. She is nuts just like I told her. I don't know why she is dragging your name though the mud but if I was you I would contact puppy find and have her banded from the site if she was doing to me what she is doing to you.
This is legal slander. I never said any such thing to her about not caring about passing ict on to puppies or breeding for money. I certainly did not discuss my mortgage payment or food bill with her. All lies made up by her…lori, leah, or lea winkler. All this nonsense just to torment me because I searched and found out she was a scammer and reported her to the other breeder she was also trying to scam.
There are many complaints and reports about her fraud, lies and scams on [redacted] and complaints board. This woman is big time bad news! I do not know that she can be stopped because she keeps changing names, web site names and kennel names to continue her fraud and scams. However, when dealing with anyone on the web about import golden retrievers or english golden puppies check them out and be sure you are not dealing with leah, lea or lori winkler now located in hickory or hildebrand, nc. This is Ashley Roberts, the founder and owner of TBCG's in which I have just recently learned of this being on the internet under my website name just today. This lady Kathy Brewer has never contacted me nor my family either. (I got her name off her other complaints on this website). I have no idea what this lady is about or talking about other then I purchased dogs from some breeders that went to my church before they moved out of state which was years ago. People like KATHY BREWER need to stop trashing and bashing others that she does not know or know a thing about either. After asking around about this person I hear that she is old and this is her nature and just to block it out. Well how do you block out some horror women's story of lies of her trashing your name and with others names that are in it too of who you are not associated with?
and to Ms. Winkler; MS TAYLOR IS NOT A BREEDER SHE IS A CONSUMER. SHE HAS A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN WHEN SHE HAS BEEN VICTIMIZED AND YOU HAVE CLEARLY DONE THAT TO HER! By the way lady you are posting someone's private email address on a complaint site. This is not a directory or news source for emails nor are they an arbitrator. You do realize posting a private communication with contact information such as email address and phone number to the public is a criminal offense. It falls under the category of cyber terrorism and cyber bullying; which is what you are you freak.
This TBC Goldens is covering her tracks. Ms Taylor was notifying consumers of this situation in hopes they would not experience what she has been through. She is not crazy. That breeder Leah or whoever she is, is psychotic. I have seen all the threatening emails. She is stalking Ms. Taylor and so is her family. This is nuts. She is a criminal. Buyer beware. Do not buy from her. I have seen ALL the evidence and Ms. Taylor is 100% right about this lady. She is nothing but a puppy mill not a legitimate breeder. It is not slander when the facts are true. Can't falsify names on imported dogs with pedigrees in picking them up at Customs, Registering them with AKC that matches pedigrees so then who are we in picking them up if says our names of Lori Brown and or Ashley Roberts along with Scott Brown? Duh! Don't know where you are getting your info from. We are NOT Winkler's. They sold out and live in CA.
Yes, she (Beverly Carter) sent me multiple messages via private message on my FB page for Spun Gold Golden Retrievers. Contacted me the first time last night saying that she bought a dog from you that had fake pedigree/papers. Said she and multiple other customers are involved in a law suit against you and that you had many different aliases and criminal charges were being brought against you. Told me that I should check the dna of my dog to make sure his pedigree isn't fake...

Teddy Bear Creme Goldens sold a "Champion" to me too, a few months ago. This lady has stalked, harassed, victimized me for months. I just got an email admission from the breeder, TBC Goldens, stating that my dog's registration is a fraud, that he is not sired by the parent dogs that she registered with AKC, that the dog is not the dog she sold to me. I have seen documented allegations of TBC's fraudulent breeding practices, fraudulent AKC registration, and fraudulent health certifications of the dogs. Her real name is Leah Winkler. This breeder changes her business name frequently, and uses false aliases, not her real name. She calls herself Layla, Laura, and uses the last name Brown, Roberts. She has a significant criminal history. I saw your posting, and hope to stop this victimization of innocent consumers. I am NOT a breeder. I bought my dog as a pet, and registered him with AKC. Goldens just sent another harassing threatening email to me, quoting my previous message to you. Sir/Ma'am, Here are the following screenshots of the emails I got from her last night. I can provide you the name and contact information of another breeder that this happened to. This lady has prior convictions of fraud, assault and battery, theft in AZ, CA, and has operated under multiple business names, personal aliases. She has been convicted multiple times, and is presently under criminal investigation. Your papers probably state the dam and sire, but you probably won't find actual DNA verification. Here are screen shots said from my inbox, written by her, fraud of her own admission. Just google TBC Goldens, Teddy Bear Creme Goldens, Lea(h) Winkler and do your own search, see for yourself. Your AKC documents are probably as fraudulent as mine are from this breeder. Additionally, there is credible, verifiable information, credible individuals who have been victimized in the same manner, who will corroborate what I am telling you. Please review the following:

She is presently under criminal investigation. I have forwarded her emails, admissions of defrauding the AKC, to AKC, went to their office this morning. Their office building is two miles from me.

By all means, you can make your own decisions about breeding the dog you purchased from her, but at least you can make an informed decision, judgement call. Again, I will reiterate, I am NOT a dog breeder. I am a consumer who has been victimized and defrauded by this breeder, and I am one of several individuals, both pet owners and breeders. The health guarantees are too. I am reaching out to everyone who is acquiring a dog from this individual, and letting them know what this breeder did to me, unethical breeding practices, criminal actions. I wish I had been forewarned, made aware before I walked into what I did. This individual has terrorized me for months, blatantly cyber stalked me, attempted to extort additional money from me, has threatened me physically, has admitted, boasted of theft by fraud against me. There are others. I am not the only one. I would suggest that you try to verify your dog's actual DNA and get your own health certifications done before breeding him. He is beautiful. My apologies if I have offended you in any way.

Yes. One of them had something to do with Home Again & microchipping...
They sent that to her. All we asked for as the $17.99 in us registering it for the year being most dont do it and the transfer is free. She sent that to us too yelling at us stating she dont know what the heck that is but why are we sending her a screen shot of it, we sent her nothing at all Home Again must have sent that to her. Why would I have her dogs current pic with her info and her vet info on my own account page with them? She is Friggen Nuts!
