System Mechanic SCAM

Repeatedly receive telephone calls telling me my computer is sending them error messages and needs repair. They use fear tactics to scare you into paying $399 for "lifetime" software support for current and future computers. (No business can do that and stay in business). The error message claim is BLATANT LIES for three (3) reasons.
1. I install the software with only their utilities, not their anti-virus or other software (because I use Norton security, which conflicts with their "security" software, so I never installed theirs), and after I use their utilities, I uninstall their software, without fail. Each time they called, I have had their entire software application uninstalled for no less than one (1) week.
2. To "prove" I have an infected computer and should buy their extra service, they remotely accessed my computer, displayed the CMD (old DOS prompt, C:) and entered the "Tree" command, with flags to display the list in red, not the standard white letters. I recognized the command(s), and I watched the entire tree scroll up. To verify what they entered, I attempted to use the arrow key to scroll up and see again what he typed. You can Not see that specific command, but you can see every other command entered.
3. To "prove" my computer has errors caused by someone who did, or attempted to, infect my computer (they change this story even on the same phone call), they have me open Event Viewer, look at Custom Views/Administrative Events (which displays only - you cannot clear those messages at that point). I have the standard red error messages from specific sources. He told me that my Print Services errors (Event ID 808) were from a damaged computer. I told him that is false. He asked if I knew what caused it. I said, "Yes. That "service" is trying to "automatically" initialize spooling, but it cannot because my printer is turned off (which is/was true). And the only error messages I get are for the dates and times that I have my printed turned off." He asked if I used the printer today. I said, "Yes (which is/was true), and I printed a couple of large files with no problem." He asked if I knew how to clear those error messages. I said, "Yes (which is/was also true). I just cleared them while you've been on the phone." He asked me how, and I told him, "In Event Viewer, go to Applications and Services Logs/Microsoft/Windows/PrintService/Admin, then do a "Clear Log" (via Action menu). He asked if all of them were gone. I said yes. He said you don't have ANY errors? I said, "that is correct."

I get one of these calls every four (4) to six (6) weeks. Also, I get emails telling my tech support will expire by a specific date, even though I have it paid for a full year. They never stop those emails.

Program not operate as promised: 1) must reinstall and restart to use; no icon or gadget as promised. Had to install icon myself. Gadgets are not supported now by Microsoft-you were not up-to-date on this. So I have no up-to-date info on status of system as you promised; 2) program not in listed Start Menu; 3) customer support very bad. Each phone number...

System Mechanic product is total crap

Buyer beware, this product is crap, the customer care is crap. The owner is an IDIOT who is trying to scam you, they will make unauthorized charges to the card you give them, and then you have to spend night and day trying to get them to do the right thing..and of course, you will get no where in your pursuit to get them to return the STOLEN MONEY...That they took from you! I trusted PC World on their review of the product..and now PC World's advice means dog crap to me AND Hopefully you. Please Please Please stay away from them, they suck big time.

my best friend's mom makes $77 an hour on the computer. She has been out of job for 9 months but last month her check was $7487 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read about it here CalmCash. com
