I purchased a timeshare package for $299.00 for 3 nites, 4 days in 3 different locations. The first one being Las Vegas. We were not happy with the Tuscany Suites they put us in and requested to be placed on the Strip. For additional money, they were supposed to put us in what I understood was the Jockey Club but ended up in the Polo Towers. Our room wa...

great vacations now ONE HUGE SCAM!!!

My complaint starts with the fact that my mom was lied to. My boyfriend and I commonly travel with my mom and her boyfriend as a group. Before she purchased the package, she asked if it would be ok for us to come on the trips with them. She was told it'd be fine. She also asked that if we wanted to get our own package and just book at the same times would that be ok? They said yes. She purchased the package. Afterwards, I called and purchased the package after asking the same questions on January 07. The next day we called to book the Costa Rica vacation together. Several weeks later we found that both our vacations were denied because the company doesn't allow "group travel" which they state as two couples who know each other traveling at the same time. THIS IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH WHAT WE WERE TOLD BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE VACATION PACKAGES. Although we were disappointed, we decided we would keep the packages and just travel at different times. We were told we had 30 days from the date of purchase to cancel the package if we changed our minds. My boyfriend and I booked our Costa Rica vacation again. We were set to travel March 07 of this year. When we booked, we were told that we could cancel or change the dates of our reservation as long as it was 15 days prior to the date the vacation is booked. Never were we told the money is non-refundable. After deciding that we would rather look for another agency that allows group travel, we decided to cancel our package on February 05. I called to cancel the package, with which I was met with a very hostile, aggressive, and nasty tone and series of questioning from the Quality Assurance representative named Richard Sanders I spoke with (how ironic!). I asked them to send an email stating this would be done and they said they would. After 4 hours had passed and I had not received an email, I called back. This was very important to me because I needed proof that the package was canceled that day since this was the last day to do so. I was eventually told that it would be done. After another 5 hours, I still had not received an email so I called back and requested not to hang up until an email was received by me. Only then did I receive an email. All 3 people I spoke with were very very nasty, sarcastic, and aggressive. As if this wasn't bad enough, the unresolved problem came in when I canceled the package. This is when I was told that I could cancel the package and receive a full refund for that, however, I could not cancel my reservation/booking for Costa Rica. When I booked the trip to Costa Rica, I had to pay $250.00 in taxes and fees. I am now being told that this money would not be refunded to me. I am being told that if I cancel the package, I lose this money and it remains the property of the agency. I asked why, since I am not taking the vacation, nor have I ever signed the confirmation letter associated with the vacation. The only response I received is that I agreed to it when I bought the package. This is not true whatsoever. Nothing in the literature I received says anything about this fee being non-refundable. So I was met with a tough decision: I could cancel the package and get my $500.00 back but lose the $250.00, or I could take the trip, but not be able to cancel the package because my 30 day cancellation period would have passed. I decided to cancel the package and get my $500.00 back (in which I was told it would take up to 2 weeks) since it was the larger amount, and pursue the $250.00 afterwards, which is what I'm doing now. Hopefully this may help others in the future.

I received a call from this vacation company and they insisted in purchasing a vacation package which included hotel accomodations in different countries . Costa Rica, Spain and Florida. At first I said that I was not interested, but they insisted and insisted offering better price and I ultimately accepted. I haven't gone om vacation but my major...

great vacations now Bait and Switch

I recently purchased a package deal for 6 trips for $299, which sounded like a great deal. I was told that I only needed to attend one 90 minute session when I went to Orlando, FL and would be given trips to Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Tampa, and Las Vegas. We attended the presentation in Orlando, Fl but were put up at a Holiday Inn express; not the place shown in the pictures. When we tried to book Costa Rica, they took my money but never actually booked us in a room. I called to confirm and was told they don't have any rooms available; they had no plans to let us know. Plus, I was told I would need to attend another presentation in Costa Rica. At this point, I'm considering the $299 a loss and not going to try to book any of the other vacations.

SB GETAWAYS identified themselves as a Ft. Laurderdale, FL travel company. I attempted to contact them concerning my billing. The listing on the internet provides their telephone number as [protected]. That number is for Directory Assistance in Portland, Oregon! There is absolutely no way to contact that company. It would appear I was snookered. GREAT...

DON"T FALL FOR IT. This company offers great deals with great options, hidden costs and fees add up and is not worth it. This company is run by a bnunch of kids scamming people for a living and is not true. If you do take this package enjoy spending more time arguing feex, taxes and hidden costs.

I have been scammed on Wednesday night 22/04 to pay £99 pounds to extend my purchase from years ago which I have not been in a position to use. Despite me saying I could not afford to upgrade my Cancoon part to all inclusive for an additional £799 buy on get one free the continued to pressurise me, eventually I lost my temper after being bombarded he finally agreed to upgrade for free.
I have received my confirmation email but when I have tried to log onto their site there is nothing there.
I'm going to ask my credit card provider to cancel this transaction as I am sure it is money for false advertising.

I have to agree with everyone who has complained about GREAT VACATIONS NOW. I live in the UK and was taken in by this cheap-cheap offer, even though I spent nearly 2 hours talking to several people on the phone. Examples You are told the accomadation can be for 4 adults. They give you a room with 2 beds!. They include a car- 2door micro, barely enough room for 4 people never mind the luggage. $148 to upgrde to a medium car!. They offer a cruise to Bahamas - It costs mega dollars if you wish to get off the boat and stay ashore, and like the man said... No way can you get a refund for anything. Here's the good part. If you want to cancel out totally with no refund... They try and charge you a cancallation fee on top of everything. You people who work for these gangsters should be ashamed of yourselves.

I have just been Scammed! Don't buy through them, go directly to a resort. I booked back in Feb 2010 and they told me everything was set. Now following up they didn't put me in the resort, but a cheap A*S hotel and told me they told me I was put there because I was a single young mother with 3 children. After calling the resort myself they were in shock and they told me they have never received a request, but it’s too late as they were book. The company told me today that they tired to transfer me to another place, but can’t because everyone is sold out! I called Bahama Bay & Spa Directly and was able to book with no problems for cheaper price. Today they are telling me they will not give back my money and I even purchased an upgraded package. This deal might be good for someone if you're looking to stay in a cheap hotel, but don't expect a resort. I'm planning on going after them to get back my money and make an official complaint. Let me know if anyone would like to join me as I lost over $300 and for what?!?! (Call me [protected]). Please, please before you book with this company--Do Your Research! It may work out, but most likely NOT. Why would you want to take the chance, personally from now on I’m going to book through a company with good standings and do research before hand. If you have money to throw away, then go ahead and take your chances. It’s a huge gamble as you may lose a lot of money as I have. OMG I just wish I would have read reviews on them prior to today! THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE!
