AYC Move Inaccurate information regarding charges

I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and disregard to communication I have experienced with AYC Move. Below, I've outlined the communication we've received - lacking transparency, consistency and accountability.

[March 7/8]

- Trisha starts search for movers and receives an email from Gabriella - reservations agent - with a moving proposal.

- Proposal does not include 'Warehouse Handling' feeProposal strikes out $40 'Standard Scale Fee'[March 10]Trisha sends follow up email with attempt to connect via phone call to discuss further and a further emails made that day to connect

- Call between Trisha and Gabriella takes place: Trisha asks for clarity around fees; wants clarity for anything over 1000lbs that was listed in the original quoteGabriella confirms that the first 500lbs is charged at $350 - anything over 1000lbs is charged at $0.26 per pound

- We went through the breakdown of the quote, Gabriella confirmed that are no other charges outside of the quote

- Reconfirmed that any overage on the quote is based on $0.26 per pound

- Trisha let's Gabriella know that she's considering a few other quotes, as well as waiting for house closing date, and will follow up the following week

- Gabriella sends over 'Booking Details' in the event a booking is requested

[March 15]

- Gabriella follows up via email to see if further booking is neededTrisha follows up and confirms that house offer is firm and will complete forms to move forward with moving

- Trisha sends over booking details and deposit via etransferGabriella confirms she has received the email and will follow up the next day

- Gabriella requests that the deposit be resent due to error retrieving it on AYC Move end, Trisha missed email

[March 16]

- Gabriella confirms receipt of deposit, and lets Trisha know a confirmation email will be sent shortly - she is taking a personal day

[March 22]

- Trisha received 'Confirmation Email'Confirmation of $200 deposit received on March 15

- Attached inventory spreadsheet to complete "At this time, I have allocated 1000lb to be available on your moving truck - if you require additional space (noted after you complete your inventory spreadsheet shared then we will allocate space/invoice accordingly" with schedule of additional "Over inventory fee for local moves + fee amount

- Trisha responded the same day asking clarifying questions

1. As per our call, you indicated the only additional charge is the per pound rate at 0.26/pound. We know we will definitely be over 1000lbs - what is the additional over inventory fee? We did not agree to this.

2. Do you accept credit card payments on the day of the move?

3. What are the times the movers will arrive?

[March 26]

- Trisha followed up requesting answers to questions asked in previous email

- Also attached a photo of the storage locker with items and shared context of size (10x30 locker)

- Gabriella responded the same day requesting inventory list, and said she would provide an updated estimate claimed that she has allocated 1000lbs but will charge that accordingly

[March 27]

- Trisha sends over inventory list, and follows up with note that large items have already been disassembled

[April 6]

- Trisha followed up to email requesting updated quote

[April 11]

- Trisha called in attempts to follow up and left voicemail message inquiring about updates

- Called both: [protected] and [protected] numbers No call back

[April 12]

- Trisha sent follow up email asking for updateStates "I want to ensure that you are allocating the appropriate weight since we do not agree to the overage charges."

- Gabriella responds that she will provide estimate by end of day - no estimate received that day

[April 13]

- Note that this email was sent less than 24-hours before the move date/time

- Gabriella sent 'Updated Confirmation Email' Confirmation of $200 deposit received on March 15

- Moving proposal noted: "At this time, I have allocated 4000lb to be available on your moving truck - if you require additional space (noted after you complete your inventory spreadsheet shared then we will allocate space/invoice accordingly" with schedule of additional "Over inventory fee for local moves + fee amount

- Also noted "this email offer is non binding until a more formal and definitive written contract between the parties is signed"

- Trisha did not confirm receipt of email or signed any contract, as she didn't notice it until the next day

- Trisha received a call from "Supervisor" (phone number: [protected]) to confirm time movers will arrive

- Supervisor confirmed that movers will arrive at 6am the next day

- During the call, Trisha again asked for clarification on additional charges

- Trisha noted that she did not hear from Gabriella yet

- Supervisor confirmed that anything in addition will only be charged at the $0.26/lb rate

- Supervisor also said that we'll communicate directly with the movers the next day to sort out to overage weight at $0.26/lb

[April 14]

- Noticed it was 7:18am when he woke up~11:30am: movers completed move and went through paperwork

- Trisha acknowledges additional boxes and tape required (to be charged)

- Trisha acknowledges additional weight (to be charged)

- Warehouse fee was new

- Mover went through scale weight and flat rate options; restated that we need to calculate based on $0.26/lb

- Trisha asked clarifying question - "the only overage is $0.25/lb - anything over the first 500lb" - mover confirmed

- 2:33pm: received call from accounting manager

Trisha was on the road and did not look at email; pulled it up once received call

- Trisha went through invoice and noticed discrepancies: movers late - credited $100 - resolved

- weight was charged for full $0.26 x 11,000lb - it should have been calculate at $0.26 x 10,500lb + $350 (for 1st 500lb fee) - resolved

- Accounting manager asked that full payment be made in order for property to be delivered to house the next day

- Trisha stated this was impossible, e-transfer has maximum per day, this was also too late in the day to request. Understanding that this payment was to be made in cash the day the movers delivered

- After back and forth, Trisha and account manager agreed that e-transfer of $3,000 to be made and cash given to movers the next day

[April 15]

- Trisha settled full amount in order to receive belongings

- No follow-up from AYC ever received

I also have emails to support these claims and can product upon request.

Desired outcome: Refund of $870 for hidden costs, not disclosed- Warehouse handling fee ($120)- Over inventory fee ($750)

Please for the love of God do NOT ever use AYC as a moving company anywhere, any day, no matter how little or how many items you need to move. First off you will get what seems a really nice low quote and you will get excited to save money but then what actually happens is they come to your house they send 3 men that do not speak english or pretend not to...

AYC Move Scam on charges

Today I moved my furniture from Markham to Oshawa and I took the Servicies of AYC Movers.

Two days back I received a call from there sales department stating that they can help me with moving. She noted the details of the furniture and emailed me an estimate of $450 over my email.

Today they were supposed to be there at 9am and they reached at 10.30am and there was no communication which is highly unprofessional.

After that once the furniture was there in the truck movers asked me to sign the contract where the total amount mentioned was $1200. I was shocked and called the sales representative (I don’t want to name her) and she asked me to sign the contract and said she will waive off the charges and you will have to pay only $450 as the movers were late. I trusted her and signed the contract.

I got a call from there accounts department stating the total bill is $1400. I panicked and asked for clarification. She said either you pay or we will keep the furniture for which you will have to pay storage fee per day and we will file a case against you.

After requesting a lot when her ego got satisfied she asked to pay $1000 and gave $200 discount.

I tried reaching the sales representative to confirm on the first amount $450 which was confirmed over email but she said she cannot help me with anything and I have got no option but to pay.

I am very new to canada and this was the worst experience I have ever got.

The staff was very rude and I want to file a complaint against them to return my $550 back.

In response to my comments posted here, AYC reached out to me recently asking me to remove my comments from here and were willing to financially settle it internally bh returning me $800 as compensation.

In return, they sent me an agreement which had so many mistakes that my lawyers laughed so hard seeing them. AYC basically drafted the agreement to pay themselves $800 instead of me and thought I wouldn't notice it. Also, they added an additional clause that stated that I will be liable to pay them upto $15,000 in future if they get to know that O have shared this settlement details or their company's name to any third party, friends or family. Another Scam.

AYC Move are the biggest SCAMMERS that Ive come across.

I will now post it on twitter and other platforms as well and will consult with my lawyers to file an official complaint at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs so that now they look into it.

Please do not go with AYC for anything, they are just there to loot everyone and should be held accounted for now.

I was born and raised in Canada and i assure you that most of us are good people. I too recently was defrauded and extorted by AYC and i know the anger you are feeling. I have already sought legal expertise as my bill was $6267 after an original quote of $1210
