prohometek.com review: Smart bracelet 2

I am concerned that this is a front for getting credit card numbers.

My husband purchased a "smart bracelet" or "smart watch" on December 14, 2022. He was to be charged $7.95. The item finally arrived late last week and the packing slip included a line item for shipping at $0.00 and a total of $7.95.

The item does not function properly, but it was only $7.95 so we didn't follow up with the company.

Yesterday. Citibank contacted us about a $111.45 charge from ProHomeTek, which we did not recognize. The charge was stopped, the card was shut down and a new card is being mailed to us.

Today we were screening our charges for further fraud and came across a $12.50 charge on December 14, 2022 for the same company. I looked at their website and then called the company to see what the $12.50 charge was for. They told me it was for the "smart watch." I asked why it was $12.50 when the packing slip said $7.95 and was informed that my husband added shipping and insurance, which he said he did not do. I asked if they had sent any emails confirming this purchase and they said yes; but we have yet to locate any emails.

I then asked what the $111.45 charge for yesterday was for and she denied that the company had charged us that. I told her that I needed to speak with her supervisor, which she ignored. I told her I was going to dispute the $12.50 charge and asked if they wanted the watch shipped back to them. She said yes, but that it would be at our cost. I told her that was not going to happen and concluded the phone call.

We have disputed the $12.50 charge with Citibank.

There is definitely something fishy about this company!
