(July 16 2009)I am in the middle of worrying whether my dogs, a boxer and a Puggle will be alright. I gave sergeant's Silver to both of them ( I usually use Frontline, but in this economy, I was trying to save $$.) 24 hourse later, Duke, our Puggle started whining, chewing his feet, became hyper and couldn't settle down. I was trying to sleep, but finally at 11:30 PM last night I gave him a bath, not even thinking that it could be an allergice reaction. He seems really releived when I put in in the tub and bathed him, with Pantene Shampoo. So this morning, I came to work and googled "flea control dogs, sergeants' and all these complaints came up. I was horrified, because Lilly, our boxer, had not shown symptioms, but some of the reactions were delayed as I read above. I left work and went home and bathed them both in the Dawn dishwasheing soap. ( Duke got a second bath since I had used shampoo the first time) . I will be monitoring both of them very closely. Duke seems ok, and he did sleep next to me all night after his first bath, but is still wiggy with his feet and ears. Lilly still seems fine. Right now, I don't know if its all in my head, but my skin feels hot in my arms and my nose and I wonder if some of the stuff entered my skin while washing it off! I will never use ANY kind of flea treatment between the shoulders again! Only flea dips for Lilly and Duke from now on! They are family, just as all you readers condsider your pets.
