I applied Sergeants gold to my pug yesterday(6/22/09). He seemed OK at first, after about 9 hours i noticed he was scratching himself. He is not an itchy dog. I really didn't think anything of it until the next day when I noticed he was biting his rear paw and scratching the spot where I put the Sergeants Gold on him. I have never used this product before, I had always used Advantix and have never had a problem. I must note that we have never had a problem with fleas or ticks with either of our dogs. Our other dog is a Boston. I also treated her with Hartz Ultra Guard and have not had any adverse reactions as of yet (hopefully not ever) After reading the posts I realized Uggy was having a BAD reaction to the Sergeants. I bathed him right away and gave him a small dose of benadryl. He usually hates bath time but when I put him in the warm water he seemed so grateful. I will never use this product again and I'm thankful my Boston did not have an adverse reaction. The lesson I learned is don't cheap out! Spend a little more now and avoid the heartache and headache
