I'll be the concerned, as much as I can help. First, titles mean nothing. I came in fresh, albeit with a degree in accounting, and was doing taxes supposed to be at advanced level preparers, judged solely on your H&R Block title you take tests for. That's because of how the commission structure and the anti-ethic environment is built. To do what you say would mean preparers would lose money, ergo the company losing money and would close down. So just throwing them through slapshod and reckless is now acceptable, regardless of how many complaints are submitted anywhere. I really wish that class actions would start to be taken by these attorneys general. But I hope you're going somewhere different, anywhere that's not H&R Block, but also avoid Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax Services. VITA is ideal, the IRS Sponsored tax clinic doing taxes for free. As long as you meet filing status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, you can go get them done. Hope your year goes alot better. Don't give up the fight.
Again, your title summarizes it all. Because you said real estate, it would be too complex for VITA. So for you, a reasonable priced expert would help you. Hope your year goes great.
Yeah, your time there is accurate. I stopped doing all that since the majority of it was sales pitches I really didn't want to do, especially peace of mind, which was an implicit assessment of lack of knowledge on my part. The rest was usually rebootable errors, taking 10 minutes or more, because our in-house tax software was as crappy as a cut rate, malware infested tax software. I only managed to get it down to 1 hour though. Embarrassing. The company actually gets in the way of your own work. Well, I hope you go somewhere different, and you use either a tax program or IRS VITA. FIling Status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000. Have a happy new year.
As it is with this complaint area, all I have to do is read the title to respond. This is extremely regrettable to say, but it is still true nonetheless. For a usual 1040, it's BASE price was $250. Kicker, it may be higher now. All total including state and if you have a refund, no other products yet, it's close to $400. And yes, boilerplate, all they'll take is your money, after that you'll be treated hostilly, just like a mugger, except they do it legally and no violence. Hope you're using something else. Hopefully IRS VITA. SIngle status $20, 000, all others $50, 000. And tax programs that are reputable. I hope your year goes better now.
You're not gonna like what I'm going to say, but with all that's happened, I hope it doesn't hurt all that much. First, I had at least 2 friends who wanted to be my clients through Block. Oh, did I nearly lose their friendship by lambasting them so fiercely with what I witnessed there and getting, in essence, 0% of the gains from the overprice, thereby victimizing both parties (me and my friends). I did it or free or a huuuuge reduction in price. Because I knew because of their corruption mixed in with ineptness, that only enemies being sent here would make it common sense. With what you said, only someone that ill informed would actually think H&R Block was cheaper than the other person your ex friend went to. And keeping with honesty, having me go through that, I'd immediately break my friendship with you, too. In fact, I'd go further and declare you as an enemy. Me, I don't do friend as if they're collectibles. I've seen the havoc it pulled on the popular kids in school and determined that is not what I want. As I got older, I then further decided that since my life has a high level of suffering in it now, those who add to it willingly or had lacked the mental capacity to ascertain what they were doing was harmful to me, usually way more emotionally than physically, regardless of what they've done for me, I'd ditch them. Life's too short to have people close to you add on. So while you may not be good friends with this person now, at least you still talk, I hope. I cut off all contact and will avoid or will get out of a conversation with an offender ASAP. So I hope you learn from this painful lesson to do your research besides just what you experience when you're going to do something like this again. If your friend is important to you, this should be nothing. Have a happy new year, and I deeply apologize if it seemed like salt-rubbing the wound. This is not my intent, but to highlight what should be learned from this painful moment.
Oh, I have a feeling you're DEFINITELY not going to like this. Here goes: 1, the price they charged you was correct. And 2, you aren't seeing a DIME of it back. They're like legalized muggers: Important until they take your money, then discard you and leave you victimized. And for #1, when I say right, it doesn't mean I agree with the price, which is why I'm doing this and also volunteer my time sometimes for completing people's taxes to reduce the number of victims like you as much as humanly possible. Next time, either go to VITA, an IRS Sponsored free tax preparation clinic (Single filing status $20, 000, all others $50, 000), or find a reputable person or tax program for way less money than Block charges. Hope your new years goes better.
Yeah. Usually titles there mean nothing about tax experience, not even length of tenure there. As a rule of thumb, the good ones, as in people like me, usually leave within the first year because of the Chernobyl level of toxicity of ethicslessness and illegalities. I'm sorry you went through that. I hope that you qualify for VITA, an IRS sponsored free tax prep with competent people like me completing taxes, and WAAAAAY more knowledgeable than anyone at Block ever could hope or attain to be. Filing status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, or use a reputable online tax program as good substitutes to complete your taxes to pay as little preparation as possible yet have an accurate return. Have a happy new year.
Yeah. They don't know what they're doing. At ALL. The only thing they're experts in is finding ways to legally steal as much of your money as possible and leave you with no recourse, as if you were just food they bought, consumed, and threw out the refuse. Sorry that you went through such an unfortunate situation. Next time, please use VITA, an IRS sponsored free tax preparation clinic $20, 000 single all others $50, 000, or a reputable tax program. Hope this helps. Have a happy new year regardless.
Ahh, yes. This one. Brings back memories. None of them good, by the way. When I gave prices, it was from a good few years ago. But we were, tax professionals, prevented from seeing how the prices would roll out, despite the fact we charge on a form basis. The ones I knew, I knew from memory because of their ridiculously high amount for such a simple form that can be filled out by hand in 5 minutes. But still, what they told you again was a lie in order to fleece you of your money and then automatically ignore your comments afterward. Unless you were unlucky enough to earn their ire, at which point we would purposely screw up your taxes to the point, if you got one of the preparers angry enough, you not only wouldn't qualify for EIC again, but may get visited by law enforcement. Use VITA, the IRS Sponsored free tax clinic. Look them up online. Single filing status $20, 000, all others $50, 000. Or use a reputable tax program online or find someone who does it accurate and honest, and charges a reasonable price. SOrry for what you went through. Hapy new year, regardless.
Yep. Sleazy and scammy till the bitter end. They are just like politicians. Use all these promises, bold faced and out there, then immediately go back on them using the flimsiest of excuses and blatant ignorance of their own decency. Hopefully, now you'll use a tax program, a reputable person charging a price reasonable for you, or use VITA, IRS Sponsored tax clinic to get your taxes done free if, for the biggest among many qualifiers, you have income below: Filing status Single $20, 000, all others $50, 000. I hope this experience made you wary of just about anybody. Which is a good thing, because the more wary one is, the more the company has to prove themselves, making it beneficial to all who have credibility and forthrightness.
Number 1, yes, 100 percent to the Nth exponent you're both out of money. Again, their model is crafted to only care about the money, almost like a legalized mugging scheme. Second, you guys are lucky it wasn't more, as in using that clearinghouse computer to screw with your taxes to the point the cops are called to your place to arrest you for major fraud. That can realistically happen. Hopefully, you'll use a reputable tax program, a reputable person charging a reasonable price, or use VITA, IRS Sponsored place where if you fall under Filing Status Single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, you can get your taxes filed free. Remember this and have a better year than the year where this unconscionable incident happened.
