I have a Chihuahua and she had a reaction from the same medicine (sergeants flea & tick for 9lbs-20lbs. It started with constant movement all over the carpet as if she was trying to scratch her back and she was panting. I rinsed her off with water, it didn’t seem to help much(unfortunately I wasn’t aware of how well Dawn works for pets). Through the night it continued with the panting and constant movement and whining. She was constantly liking her paw…it was red so I think she may have scratched the back of her neck and got the medication on her paw. I took her a bath and washed her with regular dog shampoo and it seemed to help a little. This morning when we woke she was really hot under her belly, ears and head and still whining…she is now at the vet and we are waiting to hear back.
