I’ve been in recovery and sober for 8 months. I recently had a DHS sweat patch put on me in November that came back with a low level of methamphetamine creating a positive result. There was a negative amphetamine level. DHS removed my children from my care. I had dropped clean Urinary Analysis every single day while wearing the patch and I was refused a hair stat by the courts and DHS. They automatically deemed me as relapsing and I did not. I was told by the courts and DHS that the patch cannot be environmentally contaminated and mine was 100% contaminated. I live in my home that is full of furniture from my prior life. DHS did not allow me any other way to prove my sobriety and removed my children. I have researched many other court cases and found many things online stating the patch can be contaminated and everyone involved in my case refuses to believe this. I even found a case with the manufacturer of the patch verifying outside contamination is possible. I have a letter from my doctor stating outside contamination is possible as well. Nobody seems to want to look into this and I am not the only woman in recovery this has happened to. Something must be done with allowing DHS to remove children based solely on a patch that can show results in nano grams. My children were removed for a level of 127th billion of a gram which is the size of a tip of a pen.

Desired outcome: Complaints filed, raise awareness of environmental contamination, something submitted to me that can assist my case when environmental contamination is founded to be true
