In late 2008, I ordered a book of poems to be published by Poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry and to be distributed in mid-2009. I paid for the book by personal check sent in to the company but never received the book. I paid approximately 50 American dollars for the poetry book.
I wonder what happened to it. One of my poems was to be published in the book that year.

On Dec 27, 2008 I paid by personal check $49.95 for a poem that was written and to be published in IMMORTAL VERSES. Scheduled for publication in winter of 2009. On Jan 12, 2010 I sent an inquirey letter reguarding same information. The letter was returned to sender with notation vacant unable to forward. I'm requesting a response to this message reguarding publication or my money returned as soon as possible.
I won an "Editor choice award" for my poem "Daydream" in "2009" and i have yet to receive my award of a certificate and crystal award with my name on it. If i do not get my award for my poem i will charge poetry.com and Howard Ely, Managing Editor with fraud and taking people's money and causing emotional damage. I have shared my poem and sent you all you need to have it published now i want my award that was promised to me please i have waited a year and a half.
Just so you know, poetry.com is a scam. If you don't buy the book it doesn't get published.
I don't know why you didn't receive your book because I got mine.
I strong suggest you no long take place in any competitions or even submit things to poetry.com
Always do your research when putting things into a contest.
I wish to get my poem back. i have copies of all of them, just one i do not have. and since it was a scam i have no idea how to get it. i don't even remember what it was called. it starts out "ashes to ashes, dust to dust, these women are just burned victims of lust." i wish to find it. please help
i totaly agree with i also was told the same thing and i am just now finding out this whole thing, i am very angry to have to find out the reason i didnt get my award was because the company was stealling my poems are very heart felt and it isnt fair to any of us to have to deal with tha fact that this was done to us...it has been 3 to 4 years nd still no award and no poem to show for the work that we did.i to would love my poem and my rights to my poem back...
The stole one several of mine also, i never sent in any money because my husband told me to ask them for a copy of the book that my poems would appear in, they said to send money first, so i just left it at that, sorry about my poem though, it was pretty good. I would love to have my Poem back from them.

my poem was titled World Of Love
I to sent a poem in 2006 Titled " Time of Life " it was to be published in the Immortal Verses. I paid for a copy of the book and for my reservations @ Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. I never recieved my Formal Invitation, no book. I do still have my offical letter from Poetry.com, however unfortunaly, I do not have a copy of my poem due to a flood in my home everything was lost.

Yes people into was scammed as I submitted a poem too, I also received a formal invite to Las Vegas. Would have been nice to see something of mine published in a poetry book but as everyone else has said- we have been had! Does anyone know if any legit poetry writing comps that are out there?
Dearest Howard Ely, you are a devoted to your profession specialist, who could find in my first poems which as a retired neurologist, an immigrant from Russia started to write while studying English in ESL classes. Your deep understanding the essence of my thoughts encouraged me to write more and more poems. have them now about 90. Many, many of them were Highly awarded. I'm now 89 years old, and, biyng on limited SSI as an immigrant, I don't have any credit cards and can't pay for a book of my poems. If it's possible to send to you all my poems and you could make of them books, I'd be the happiest person because I have a very big family. including 6 great, grand children.. Maybe many of my poems could be highly awarded? it is up to you.. So, let me know, if it is possible for you.
