I got a small loan from PLS when my company had cut our hours and salary because of lack of work. I paid the interest only for a few months, then finally our job just stopped and I was not able to find another one for one year. I was on unemployment benefits and out of that my child support for 2 children plus their insurance came out.I had lost everything during my divorce so my mother helped me buy another car and I was trying desperately to not lose it. I got so far behind that I could no longer pay on the loan. Today I got a letter from the D.A's office stating that PLS had turned in my check as a "hot" check. Since they are a check cashing company they may have just turned it in as one I had written and not told the D.A. that it was for a loan and I don't know if it makes any difference or not. I paid so much in interest that it probably covered the complete loan I got but apparently that does not matter.I have had a new job for about 5 or 6 months and am still trying to get caught up on all the bills and they have done this. I hope the government just intervenes and stops ALL PAYDAY LOAN companies from doing business because they are total rip offs. Please don't use this store.

people need a class action suit this is preditory lending. Especially if they have a check for full amount and can cash anytime, However stopping payment on the check should be legal as the loan amount has been paid down; Therefore they are not entitled to this money. H&R Block was sued due to giving IRS returns without authorization on amount of Refund, resulting in owing loans to banks at interest rates banks set. Law suite needed.

I totally agree. Highway robbery. The intrest rate alone should make someone rethink their plan. I was late with my payment and only had 2 payments left on my loan. They deposited the orignal check for $1100. They will not return the difference back to me because it's their policy. How is that legal? Nor did they ever tell me that they would be depositing my check if I did come on on my promised date to make that payment. I have kept in communication with them when my payment would be in however they never communicated that to me and now I have lost my entire paycheck to these idiots. NEVER EVER take a payday loan. EVER. They are deceptive. I personally don't know how people that work there sleep at night knowing they take so much money from consumers. AND when there is a problem, take even more money that is not even owed to them. Shame on all of them, shame on us for letting them do this to us and shame on our state for allowing it in the first place!

Yes, they were there but they also know that the people that come to them have no other choices than to accept their terms. It's highway robbery. I had basically the same thing happen to me, no DA yet, but today they (PLS) actually came to my house because I quit answering their 1, 000, 000 phone calls! What? Are they gonna break my legs?
