On November 15th, 2011 Chief Joe Harris of the Plantation Fire Department made several documented threats to me at the Plantation Police Department in "reference" to mail fraud and harassing volunteer firefighters at Station One. Chief Harris made these threats before four unknown officers and a Detective Murray. I was questioned for nearly half an hour because I published a book titled: DISCRIMINATION A True Story About Randy Pettitt and the Plantation Fire Department. They didn't like it. By the way, I was never charged with anything.
One of their fire captains (Randy Pettitt) was being questioned over mail fraud and to bail him out or prevent embarrassment to their fire department they decided to blame me for the mail fraud because I published a book about the department's continuous discrimination and how to start a union at the department.

Laura Grunas (Plantation Police) shot and killed Robert Pete (Volunteer Firefighter for Plantation). These discriminators that I wrote about are the ones who pushed Laura over the edge.
Terence Benson (former Plantation Volunteer Firefighter) arrested for child pornography and serving a seven year sentence in a central Florida prison.
This department is a volunteer department that pays their firefighters $6.00 per call and training. To make things worse, they don't do the taxes, so you have to take care of that at the end of the year when you receive the 10-99 in the mail. They also pay their firefighters quarterly. They fail to establish their volunteer status on badges, uniforms and fire trucks. Do not waste your time if you want to be a volunteer firefighter with this department----especially----if you are disabled, or have any type of impairment because they have a record of discrimination.
It's a shame that after all the money they save by using their volunteer status that they pursue other avenues in making more money by having their once a year Barbeque to raise money----money they don't need. This fire department definitely needs a union.
If you are disabled, or have any type of impairment----Do not waste your time volunteering as a firefighter with this department because they have a record of discrimination. I had to file a discrimination case against them on September 13, 2011 Case #[protected] with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for them suspending me due to my disability and rejecting me from department opportunities. Captain Randy Pettitt said to me, "I will never choose you for the FFII program if you don't resign." Amazingly, I received a call about ten days later from Battalion Chief Todd who said, "You can come back to Station One." Anything to avoid a lawsuit... Special thanks to the EEOC.
I came back for a few days and no one would even look at me----much less say a word to me. You don't want to risk your life for $6 a fire call; much less with a bunch of volunteers who hate you. I grabbed all my gear from my bunker and dropped it on the floor at Station One----and never returned.

On November 15, 2011 I received a call from Detective Murray to come down to the police department in reference to some questioning. When I arrived, surprisingly, Chief Joe Harris showed up and shouted all kinds of threats: "You stay away from my fire department, you stay away from my firefighters, you stay away from ANY government facility..." Let me guess...the recording got lost. It was all on tape while four or five cops who stood around in a tiny little room protecting this big brave fire chief against me----crippled guy with a disability. What set them off was a book I published titled: DISCRIMINATION: A True Story about Randy Pettitt and the Plantation Fire Department. They wanted to put me in jail for it. Well, their investigation FAILED!
