All pet shops are horrible but this one takes the cake... they sold a woman I know a chihuahua puppy recently that can not even take care of her existing 2 beagles. Her beagles share a crate and defecate all over her house. She has a little girl and there was no mention by them to her to bring the little girl in first before selling her a breed of dog that is known to have kid issues. I am aware that it is not their job to screen people and that it is actually illegal for them to do so, but this has got to be one the most irresponsible businesses I have ever seen! I hope you people realize what you have done... I am not a whistle blower by nature but I am a professional in the field and in the area. I plan on following up on this with friends within the industry I know this isn't the first time this has happened. You people make me sick! The animals are NOT possessions... and just because someone flashes a credit card does not mean certain questions shouldn't be asked. What will you say when and if that little girl is bit or that dog dies! Oh yeah I forgot... I can just go to your website and print off one of many legal documents that cover your butts.
I "ADMIT" it's a flawed system... they choose to close their eyes and not try to at least make an effort. I talked to said customer and she said "..it was so easy... they didn't ask me anything, and just sold me the dog." My issue is that we all work within the constraints of our direct environment or laws... that doesn't mean that when dealing with a living breathing person or animal we shouldn't, Morally, try!
Awe... I know, right. I was curious as to how you respond to people... I'm actually going to use this as an example in my psych class! Sorry guys, new to this complaint board stuff didn't realize I was posting a comment. Figured out how to submit my complaint though : ) I definitely agree with you that Pet Store is horrible and I hope something can be done.
I have recently gone into this Pet Store and fell in love with a little Chihuahua, I usually adopt but he was just too cute and looked so sad. I asked the workers in there how much he was and they said $2000. Now that is just a ridiculous price when I can go to breeders around this area and get a pure-bred for $300. They claimed he was AKC registered, had Champion bloodline, and he came from a breeder in Arkansas. So I did a little research and went onto the AKC website and found no breeder in Arkansas that bred Chihuahuas that are AKC registered. Not only are they price gouging and falsifying information how are these animals supposed to go to a good home with prices like that. I went in 2 days later to see if he was still there and he was, so I asked again how much is he and this time I was told $2100. So he went up $100 from 2 days ago, I asked and the worker said " he is micro chipped which costs more and one of the other workers could have read the sheet wrong, so basically just a bunch of lies to get more money. Also on there website in the "about us" section they claim to sell there puppies at the lowest prices around and will compete prices with other competitors. When I offered them a lower price they're like no we cant do that. This place makes me sick, these animals are suffering because of the greed and stupidity of the people who own and work there. I will be doing further investigation on this place and getting others involved.
