We purchased our baby in 2013. Fast forward 3 years and we find out our dog has a congenital Liver Shunt which can only be repaired by an expensive surgery. We have since contacted the breeder who has refused to refund us even though our dog was BORN with this disorder. NEVER purchase a dog from http://www.paradiseminidachshunds.com/Home.html as Helen (owner) does not have her previews litter mates health as priority!

I am the owner. Fact: Breeder sold us a dog with a congenital disorder (born with the shunt) and is 100% responsible. Further action as been pursued.

I am the breeder. Fact: The owners of the dog born November 22, 2012 and they did not have any pre-surgery (anesthesia) blood work done on the dog at the time of his neuter (approx. 6 months of age) which would have indicated at that time whether the liver enzymes were elevated or not. I have asked them if they waived the blood work, but they have refused to tell me. Or, if the Vet never told them it should be done. Also when they picked up the dog from me on 1/26/2013, they signed a contract which states: The Buyer agrees to notify Paradise Dachshunds if he/she is unable to care for or keep this Puppy at any time in its’ life. The Breeder is to be given the first option to take this Puppy back or find it a good home. No money will be refunded. They bought the dog from me for $1, 000. They have refused to return the dog to me, but he is over three years old at this point and expect me to pay them back $1, 000.
