For the last two weeks I have tried with no success to speak with the doctor that ordered my sleep study.
He calls at inopportune time, leaves a message to “call him back.”
No matter what time of the day that I call (the doctor said to try his office during lunch time), it is impossible to reach his office.
I have pictures of my phone with call times, each day, of between 35 and up to 1 hour and 15 minutes. The farthest I have gotten is the “message taking” group. They pass along the message; my messages have become more frequent and I have pleaded with Dr. Abate’s office to give me a window of time: asking him/his office to call me during a set time period and I have offered to sit and do nothing other than wait for his call. I have even offered to drive to his office (40 minutes) to discuss the results of my overnight sleep study.
I am beyond worn out. If I totalled my time to get through, it would be at least 10 hours, give or take.
If there was ANY OPTION other than OPTUM, I would jump ship. I’m in the uncomfortable position of having great doctors in the practice.
I will tell everyone I meet or discuss health care with that the phone system is beyond broken. Hopefully someone will eventually realize that saving money isn’t as important as patient care & service.

Desired outcome: 1. I JUST WANT TO SPEAK TO MY DOCTOR2. Somebody PLEASE acknowledge that the VM system is the worst, is broken and is giving the company/practice a bad, bad reputation.
