While on active duty (Army) and patient at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, MD in 2019, I was prescribed a CPAP through TriCare. Every month after receiving the CPAP I would receive replacement hoses and filters. In January 2021, I received a bill for past/ overdue payment of $198.28 with threats of sending it to a debt collector and impacting my credit score. In response to this, I called the company and asked them if they had made a mistake. After talking to a lady, I was told that TriCare had changed their policy and that a provider needed to write a prescription annually now. I informed them that I was no longer utilizing the machine and that I could send back the previous 6 months' worth of stuff they had sent me, still sealed in the boxes, free of charge. After discussing with the lady, she recommended that the fastest and easiest way to resolve this would be to just cancel my orders and have my provider update and postdate my prescription. She emailed me the form, I had my provide fill it out, and I sent it back within a week. The following month, I received another threat in the mail from Optigen. I called them back up and after spending about an hour talking to someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing, they transferred me to another number. After waiting on hold for about another hour, someone finally answered and basically had to spend another hour explaining the situation (again) before she was finally able to confirm that in fact the prescription was in and did not know why I was sent the bill again. She made a note on the account and said that I should be good. 30 days later, a new threat on my credit arrived in the mail. Once again, I called the number and explained everything again. The lady said that she seen the note on the account, the prescription, and reassured me that the bill I received was auto generated and that I shouldn't need to worry about it. Another 30 days go by, and I received another letter threatening to collection and attacking my credit. I again call Optigan, again I am told that everything on my end was taken care of and to ignore anything I get in the mail. After being promised by the lady on the phone that this would not go to a credit collector or effect my credit score I ignored the letters, Recently I received a letter in the mail from Nationwide Recovery Systems (Debt Collector) stating that they are trying to collect a debt that I owe Optigen and that they may report this obligation to a credit reporting agency. I have done everything on my end to resolve this issue with Optigen who has done nothing but harass me with threats to pay something that I didnt ask. I have dedicated my time in promptly replying to them, wasting time getting the proper documentation the way they asked, all for a medical product that I didnt even ask them to send to me.

Desired outcome: 1. Resolve this credit issue promptly 2. Notify me once its done 3. Provide a formal apology for wasting my time 4. Provide details of their corrective action so this does not happen again to anyone.
