My husband was online at work and somehow (I guess/he don't remember it) order this onlingo. I had a charge of 59.00 and didn't even see it until the next month and was charged 79.00. I called bank and they gave me a number. I called this company and talked to some guy that was a ### to me and ended the phone call pissed because they called me a lier without saying it. I called my bank to dispute it but they needed to talk to my husband(my husband decided to drop it with the first charge since they say if we send back the second tape when it came in..they would refund the 79.00. Well I sent it back 3-4 wks ago and still haven't received anything. I called today and again talked to a guy they was again was rude and got made at me when I got rude back. He say they aren't refunding me anything because I told them I was disputing the first 59.00 charge. I said ya'll said you won't refund the first one unless I did dispute it since it was over 30 days old but would refund the 79.00 if I sent it back within 30 days. (sent it back the 3 days after I got it because I didn't remember I got the first one... and finally after looking all over my house.) I didn't even know what it was when it came in the mail. Sent them both back unopened! And still they said I would have to deal with the bank to get my money back . So I am! If anyone needs their number and can't find it... here it is... and good luck... you will need it... [protected].

Ok, I wanted to cancel it on the same day that I ordered it as well which was yesterday, but it was too late because it was at night, I called this morning waiting on the phone for about 20mins, got to talk to someone and I made him to find my name (as new subscriber without telling him I want to cancel first), so he found me quickly and I told him I want to cancel it and made him to send me a cancellation confirmation while I was on the phone with him and checked my email to make sure I received it right after he told me it is sent. Of course he told me to return it once I receive it and they will still charge the first processing and shipping ($6.95) which I have already informed my credit card company to block it as I believe it is a false advertising and canceled my credit card last night right after an hour after I ordered it. So I know they can't charge me anymore. I just don't know what they will do after they found out they couldn't charge my bank for the $6.95 and if this will ruin my credit.

Also, be aware, they ship out every morning at 5:00 am even though their business hour starts at 6:00 am, so no matter how early you call, they will tell you the trail has already been sent out.

Make sure to document every email correspondence you have with them so when you need to dispute you have something to back you up. I hope this info is helpful, and please tell me what you think they will do if they found out they can't claim that &6.95..will this go to court? I really hope not... god. I am worried.

I recently purchased a CD on line. These product was not what I expected to be or do. There was no visual guide. I was never unable to contact the customer service department of the company neither at the opening nor closing times of the department of customer service or any department for that matter. This a scam and it needs to be cut off before serious damage to which may effect a person's financial status.

Concerned shopper,
Belinda.

I signed up for a free trial. the product was awful, I emailed twice to cancel. I finally after 15 minutes on hold spoke with someone and they told me all i had to do was send back 1 CD which I did. Still no refund they charged me 69.95 and after another 10 minutes on hold spoke with someone and they said they would not give a refund until I sent back all three CD's and gave me a RMA #. Well I spoke with a supervisor about why I was not told any of this and he got outright nasty with me. Still no refund.

I saw an add for ONLINGO for learning languages on the net. They offer free trial "100% Satisfaction Guarantee","plus bonus electronic 5 language translator, and I pay only S&h$6.95 .Also they said in the add Onlingo comprehensive program equivalent to a full year of college at a fraction of the price. However I ordered a free trial onlingo spanish and I paid over the net $6.95,and about a week I received the package. It's 64 words of a basic Spanish language and numbers 1 to 29.

I did not received the bonus "electronic 5 language translator." And to day I found out they charging me $69.95 +s&h$6.95. I called to discuss the charges, they agreed to refund $40 of the sum of $76.95. I feel that I deceived and overcharged to pay $36.95 for 64 basic words and numbers 1 to 29 which I could learn from my friends in the store or on the street.

I did not catch the $69.95 charge to my checking account till a month later. I was under the impression that you got a 'trial' disc like for $5, not $69.95. I returned this unopened and was just told today 8-20-07 that it was past 30 days and I would not get a refund. I was furious and told them if that was the case send that 1st one back to me IF I COULD NOT GET MY MONEY BACK i WANTED THAT LESSON.

Yes this is a RIP-OFF!

I received an email from this company stating that I could get a FREE CD of Spanish... well, I was interested in trying to quickly pick up this language for my job, so I signed up for the CD and supposedly, I would only be charged shipping and handling costs. My monthly statements have now been charged $79.95 each month for the CDs. I tried to contact the company to cancel the subscription, that I wasn't aware I had signed up for... I have been unable to contact the company by phone or email. I have advised my Accounting Department to dispute the charge when it comes in on my monthly statement, and now I have to contact my credit card company to advise them as well...

Read the "hidden" print on these type of scams!

I tried to call their number to cancel my subscription and everytime I tried, they had a service saying that their computers were down and to try in 30 minutes. Well you know what it was saying 30 minutes later. Like many, I did not research this company. I too feel that I will have to cancel my card.

OnLingo has a tendency to go on and charge people for all their products. They don't interest about people. All they do is making money when you order you pay. They send it to regardless you are ready or not. I try to cancel, but I couldn't because no one answer the phone. I may have to cancel my credit card.

Good luck to anyone who tries to cancel with Onlingo. I cancelled my debit card and disputed the charges. Even after agreeing to to pay for the first CD (which was really poorly done) I am still battling a second charge they continue to insist upon with my card company. They're slicker than snakes with their hidden terms and quick shipments. They do not seem to be in the business of selling language CD's. They seem content just getting a couple to your mail box and billing you 150 bucks. I've done the math and a scam like this can be very profitable. In fact, I just saw a web site boasting the are experiencing triple digit growth. I do not believe it is from satisfying customers.

I have to disagree, I have no waiting time when put on hold, in fact, I got put through within seconds, literally.

I have canceled my membership, got the confirmation cancellation, and now I just gotta send one out of the three CDs I received as a part of the trial.

So far, I am very satisfied with the service. It's the actual product I'm worried about.

I do indeed agree with another comment that I've read before, I believe there are many departments that are broken up into different places, and certain departments would have worse customer service than others, not to mention there would also be a lot of people canceling all the time because of those stupid FREE XBOX offers.

I'm over here in MD and I got great customer service.

I requested the trial of the OnLine product and received the trial CD,s and dvd I was charged $5.95 plus $1.00 for the trial shipment and do not contest this charge. Now try have posted $75.90 to my credit card without a request from me to continue with their subscription. Their phone answering person claims that I agreed to such terms and conditions. I f so, I did not realize or intend to continue with this very poorly developed learning product and strongly disagree with the assumptions that I want to continue. I have asked their representatives to stop my subscription and refund the charge for all but the initial shipment (the trial product) and I have asked my credit card not to pay or to obtain a refund of the $75.90 that was entered to my account on 11/4/2007 since I have not received further shipments and intend to return (unopened) any future shipments from On Lingo.

I can tell you from experience that the only way to deal with this company is to dispute the charges with your credit card company!

I also got some direct phone numbers...thier parent company is Syndero located in San Francisco. You can speak with thier CEO Brad Klaus and explain the poor service you have received from his so called CS dept. I also found the name of thier VP of "Customer Service" Corri Tanner on thier web site, however he is never available and I was told by "Merredeth" that he does not speak to customers--EVER! Wow...what service Mr. Tanner! I did get his personal email as well as Brad which are ctanner and bklaus @syndero.com...

I hope you can all get some help this way! Please help get the word out!

I ignorantly signed up for Onlingo and after reading numerous customer complaints felt stupid for not researching the company. What I did was send them an e-mail letting them know I what I had read about their company and that I had informed my credit card company that I may have been scammed. Then I called them first thing in the morning the next day to cancel my membership with them. Fortunately somebody picked up the phone and he said they had received my e-mail and cancelled my membership that day. They even refunded the s&h...I dunno...maybe I scared them.

I am in the process of cancelling. I have had the mastercard company hold up any payment on two initial charges. I returned the CD#2 without opening it. I had no luck with customer service as he kept referring to the contract repeatedly with no compassion whatsoever. They did, though, answer the phone. Each of the two times they billed, they have diffferent phone numbers. Are they in a mobile unit?

onlingo is sending my CDs that I have not ordered and charging me $76.90. I have closed my credit card account and hopefully they will no longer be able to charge CDs to me. I am most unhappy with this company that does not answer its phones after a drippy sweet message menu. I Did Not Want Additional CDS and would like my money back. This is a very dishonest company.

Onlingo did cancel their subscription, after sending 8 packages, and generously offered to give $40 on the last package. The csr sounded very angry (I guess she gets yelled at alot) and reluctantly gave the return authorization less $9.95 shipping and handling/restock fee. Lesson learned the hard way, I hope others reading this are doing homework and do NOT sign up for this crappy program.

Signed up for a free trial in December, I was under the impression it was a FREE trial, and that I was to only pay the shipping and handling. Last week I received a second cd with no paperwork or invoice of any kind. I was going through credit card statement yesterday 01/14/2008 and saw a charge of $69.00 on 12/10/07. I immediately called them to cancel. Was informed then that they could not refund any of the $69.00 because it was over 30 days and that they had charged my account another $71.60 on 01/10/08! Was told I could return the cd for $50.00 refund, but they could cancel or issue refund until they receive the cd, or I could keep it for $40 and an immediate refund. I was so angry by the time I had hung up the phone! I did receive an email stating they had canceled and would be refunding the $40.00, but I'm still out the $69.00 plus the other $31.60. That's over a $100.00 dollars for two useless cds! I fell into the scam filling out some sort of survey on IVillage, I'm just as angry at them.

I opened an email offering a free dell computer. After clicking on the site the "Dermitage" website came up offering a free trial of their anti-aging system. As requested, to receive my FREE computer, I filled out my name, address, city, state, and email address for the Dermitage FREE system and hit the "Next" button. Up pops the next trial order page for "ONLINGO" FREE trial and I did the same as above to receive my FREE computer and clicked the NEXT button and then up popped the next trial order page for "Living Chrisitan" FREE trial offer. At the end of this is was made clear that each would cost $5.95. I said to myself well I guess that's fair, I've gone this far... and went ahead and entered my credit card information. (FOOLISHLY). Since then I have been receiving shipments from all of the above companies with fraudulent charges to my credit card in the amounts of $76.90 each month from each company. I have called Dermitage and have been hung up on twice by two service representatives and booth said there were NO SUPERVISORS to assist me and NO ONE to call me back with higher authority for over 48 hours. ONLINGO representative hung up on me as well. No one will refund any monies. Mind you this all happened over the Seasonal holidays and they expect you to open this stuff up and read their fine print and return it within their time frame. I have it all here in the original packages unopened and they will still not take it back. What a company! (Products that I didn't order.)They are all the same company and it's all a SCAMMM! They are SCAMMM ARTISTS! Don't Let IT Happen to you! I am now filing a fraud case with my credit card company and I am taking this to the News Media in Miami and "Help Me Howard" with Channel 7 News here in Miami.

Unfortunately you have to read the "fine print" because you usually will get into a contract, click on their website and there should be a TERMS OF SERVICE click on that and it should tell you how to cancel and if they accept returns (most of the time they don't). That's how most of these people get their money & won't allow returns, I would definitely suggest to dispute it through your credit card.

I ordered this trial offer and then realized I could get the same type thing for less through Amazon. I received the first package on a Monday and called them on Wed at [protected], pressed 3 for customer service, was immediately connected, received a cancellation tracking #, the reps name, and a confirmation email with return information all in less than 2 minutes. I had read all the horror stories about this company online but if you read the fine print and follow the rules which all companies have to set up, you won't have any problem canceling.

This same thing happened to me. I was going to Mexico and wanted to learn a few phrases and words. When I came back in mid December with the holidays etc, I put off sending the other four back. I could only get the last one refunded because " They are time sensitive". How convient is that?
