PLEASE BEWARE OF Justin Jones from Nortex Custom Hardwood Floors (Also goes by the name JR Jones Holdings LLC) and Dustin Burell

Justin Jones spoke to me once after the Winter Storm where our home was destroyed. I found him through a contractor called Dustin Burell from Pro Service Roofing and Construction. I expressed to both of them that my main priority was getting our home repaired and back to normal as quickly as possible, even if we had to pay a bit extra. I asked Justin outright "How long will this take?" He explained that the hardwood would have to acclimate to our home's climate and that would take a week. Understanding this and having heard it before from other contractors, I asked, "how long before the hardwood can be delivered?" He said to me confidently "within a week." I told him that I wanted to get started and wired him $15, 330 as a down payment for the work and materials.

Since then, I have received multiple messages from the contractor Dustin stating that he cannot get in touch with Justin Jones despite several calls and voicemails. He simply stopped responding. At one point, Dustin drove to Justin's business to pick up the raw materials and deliver them to my house, since Justin had not bothered to do so two weeks after I paid him. It has now been roughly two months and up until just a few days ago Justin has continued to ignore our calls and messages.

After leaving a very long voicemail threatening to sue him, Justin finally responded via text. He now says he is unwilling to do the work and that he will refund me for the balance after materials, however he has not done so after several days and is now saying that we have some sort of contract in place (which I never signed). It seems like he thinks he can get away with stealing why money and not doing the work. He is also acting as though he's been in contact with us the entire time and the contractor Dustin is the one at fault for not relaying messages back to me. However, Justin was the one who directly told me the work would be done after a week, only to disappear for months.

Justin Jones is also demanding that we communicate strictly via email, (not text as it is inconvenient for him) however his email address appears to be flagged and his emails automatically get filters as SPAM. This man has the audacity to get angry and call me "unprofessional" for texting him about giving me my money back and is giving me excuses like "It's the weekend" and "my kid is sick". It has been several days since his last message and he is again pretending like I do not exist and that he doesn't have to give me back my money.

I am currently looking into legal options for making sure that this con artist no longer has the ability to steal from others. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Nortex Custom Hardwood Floors and Justin Jones.

And quite frankly, I would also avoid Dustin Burell from Pro Service Roofing and Construction. I'm not sure why a flooring guy would present himself as able to do the work only to outsource the job to someone else, and then act like he's not at all responsible. All Dustin Burell has done is repeatedly moan and complain about how he's lost money after having to go pick up the materials himself. His only solution has been to refer me to another of his roofing buddies after Justin took my money, as though I would trust his referral at this point. I'm not sure what the nature of the relationship between Justin and Dustin is, but you're better off avoiding the whole mess and hiring a reputable company instead. We are currently filing a civil lawsuit against both of these individuals and have reported them to the FTC, BBB, & Texas Attorney General.

Desired outcome: GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

I've contracted Nortex on many occasions for hardwoods at multiple properties and they have performed up to standard. I agree that they aren't always easy to reach, however I've yet to have an issue with their performance in the end.

Oh hello Justin. Nice of you to chime in after we sued you and won a default judgement against you. The fun has just begun. Now we get to collect!

I’m a 71 year old lady and I find it frightening that this response says “replying to comment of my full name.” I only wanted to share my experience, as I cannot speak to anyone else’s business dealings but my own. My short statement was regarding work they have done for me in the past at my homes. I find it very concerning that “YourWorstNightmare27” is responding to a comment that I personally wrote.

While some might have issues with Nortex, as it would appear, based on my comment, I have not. He has been my flooring person for 9 years and I’m pleased to say that I’ve recommended him to 4 people from my church and that they too were satisfied. He even repaired the mantle at Jill’s house for no additional cost.

Please do not harass me or make me feel uncomfortable. I accidentally wrote the initial comment, not understanding that it was attached to a disgruntled person. I was also unaware that my first and last name would be visible. I thought you are required to use your upon signup but it remains anonymous, yet the response directed at me from yournightmare27 will actually cause me to have nightmares.

I kindly ask for clarification regarding this. In no way am I attempting to offend anyone. To reiterate, my intention was to share my personal experiences spanning a decade of a work relationship with this company. It is simply impossible and unthinkable that I would consider to speak for someone else that I have no relation with. YourWorstNightmare27, I hope you understand.
