NFO Construction review: Reimbursed $5000 for work not preformed but paid for.

We have recently had a poor experience with a local contractor doing business as NFO construction.

We decided to replace our slippery ledge brick patio with a concrete one. Leva Tevita (David) owner of NFO bid $5K. And then talked us into replacing our main patio for $10K more. After the bid they looked at our front driveway and steps up to the house and recommended staining and seal coating for an additional $5K We accepted, and they went to work on the patio's.

Talking with one of his crew members I asked how they make sure the concrete slabs would drain correctly and he informed me they use a laser for proper sloping.

The day the concrete truck was on the way I was informed that their laser was not working, and they would have to use string and since they forgot to bring some, could they borrow some from us. The result is we now have three rather large ponds on our main patio that will not drain. It could be an ice rink this winter.

David had us pay for the whole project as they finished the cement work. He informed us he would need 2 rain free days to do the staining and sealing but he needed all the money for cement work and supplies for staining. May was a wet month, so in June we started calling David to set up a time for the staining process. David had one excuse after another for a while then he stopped returning our calls so July (20) we had another contractor stain and finish the driveway that we paid David for. We are not happy!
