We purchased a microwave on Sunday 09/18/2022, paying for the microwave, professional installation and another 30 dollars for them to haul away the old appliance. We were told the installation would be on 09/21/22 between noon and 3pm. We waited and at approximately 3:45pm we called NFM customer service department to ask them what was going on at which point they told me the installation company told them it would be between 1pm and 4pm. Apparently changing the installation time to make themselves less late. In any case, they didn't show up the rest of the day and we NEVER received a telephone call from NFM nor the installation company. We called NFM twice more to ascertain a time frame and were told they were unable to contact the installation crew. At approximately 9pm we received a telephone call from someone with a very heavy accent saying they would be here this morning at 10am. Well, at approximately 11am they showed up to install the microwave, one gentleman didn't speak English and the other spoke very broken English so attempting to converse with was virtually impossible.
They removed the old microwave (wall mounted above the stove) and began bending the old brackets to better fit the new microwave even though the new appliance came with NEW BRACKETS! They then began drilling larger and larger holes in the cabinet above the appliance to mount it and were obviously having a hard time drilling directly over the screw holes in the top of the microwave. Additionally, upon drilling their first hole they showed me that the battery in the drill was dead, so they needed to get another. Before they got carried away drilling holes in the cabinet, I opened the instructions showing them the template for drilling the holes precisely however, they just smiled and ignored me. Since they continued to make the drilled holes larger the holes were so big that the screws meant to hold up the microwave were falling through the holes they drilled. I asked them if they needed washers and they again smiled. They also left a quite a mess for me to clean up before they left. For this so called "Professional Installation" I was charged $139. plus $30. to haul away the old microwave.
At this point I am not sure the microwave will NOT fall onto the top of our slide in electric stove with a glass top, breaking both microwave and stove.
This is the MOST unprofessional organization I have ever done business with and I am a retired senior citizen who has conducted business with dozens and dozens of companies. We will NEVER purchase again from NFM nor recommend then to anyone we know.
Country of complaint: United States
Desired outcome: Please have a true "Professional" come out to install the product per the manufacture's recommendations instead of the "oh well, that should do" job.
