Dear Sir/Madam,
We write this email not as individuals but as a collective voice of distressed parents whose children are studying in Narayana e-Techno School, Yavatmal. What we are experiencing is nothing less than betrayal, and it has left our families — especially our children — deeply shaken.
When we admitted our children to this school years ago, we were assured by the Cluster Principal, Ramadevi Srinivasan, that the school had CBSE affiliation up to Class 10. We trusted her word, left other schools, and placed our children’s future in Narayana’s hands. For two years, she remained silent, repeating the same assurance while our children continued their studies in good faith.
Then, on 25th July, in a meeting suddenly called by the AGM, we parents were presented with shocking news: the school is affiliated only up to Class 9. We were given three unrealistic “options” at the very end of July, when no parent has any scope to transfer their child elsewhere:
1. Travel to Nagpur – Our children will appear under Narayana’s Nagpur branch that means our children have to travel 300 kms for each exam. The school promised to arrange food and accommodation, but imagine this: three students crammed with their parents in one hotel room during the crucial exam period. How is this fair to our children’s mental and physical health? How many times do we need to travel with our children and also exams are spaced throughout the month also it shall be conducted twice a year.
2. Study in Yavatmal but appear under another school’s name – Our children will sit in Narayana Yavatmal classrooms but their board exam registration will be done under some other school. What kind of message does this send to children who already feel insecure?
3. Shift to Maharashtra State Board – A completely different syllabus, offered as a desperate last-minute escape route, just two months before final term begins.
And then came the most heartless part: “Those who disagree can take their Transfer Certificates (TCs) before 31st July.” Many parents, shocked and helpless, were forced to comply. Many others had nowhere to go. Who accepts a Class 9 student at the end of July?
As parents, we are heartbroken. As a mother, I cannot express the sleepless nights I’ve had, watching my child panic and ask me:
“Mummy, will I even be able to give my board exam?”
Our children are now teased by their friends in other schools:
"You will have to travel to Nagpur for exams!"
This is not just an academic issue. It is about the mental health of children and the emotional breakdown of families. Exam time should be a period of preparation, not of anxiety about travel, shared hotel rooms, and an uncertain future.
Why did Cluster Principal stay silent for two years? Why did this information only come to us at the last minute from the AGM? Why were parents kept in the dark?
We demand:
1. Immediate intervention from the concerned authorities
2. A proper investigation into why affiliation information was misrepresented.
3. Relief measures for the parents and children who are now under unimaginable stress.
This is not just about one school; it is about the values of transparency and accountability in education. Our children deserve better.
We appeal to you to take this matter seriously and ensure that no other family has to go through this nightmare.
Sincerely,
A Group of Aggrieved Parents of Narayana e-Techno School, Yavatmal
