I have to say that I am really disappointed in this talent agency how they deal clients. I personally had an unpleasant experience actually that occurred today. 3 Weeks ago I have sent an application for my 3 year old son with 3 pictures, a week later I got a call asking to schedule an appointment, for the agency to meet with my son, and the president of the agency Lee Gallagher-Ingram to whom I spoke to, said that he is really a cute kid and that she sees a potential. We have scheduled an appointment on Monday 26 September at 2:30pm. When that Monday came, we were contacted by the MS Lee Gallagher-Ingram to let us know that she cannot accept our son that day due to her personal emergency that she had to take care of and that we can bring our son on the following Saturday after 12PM. Unfortunately, I know all of us have days like that and therefore I did not comment or inquire anything further about that. Then, that Saturday came 01 October, 2011 - and I decided to call the agency to check what time exactly we could meet up. Some lady has answered the phone, without introducing herself saying that she cannot accept us, because MS Lee Gallagher-Ingram has had an accident. Again, an awful thing, I asked if everything was ok, and was told yes, but there has been this emergency and they cannot accept us again and I was told to call back the next day, which was Sunday. I didn't call Sunday or Monday, giving them some time to recover from everything, and then I emailed the agency to inquire if we could reschedule now the appointment. I got a reply right away to call which I have. After speaking I believe to the owner of the agency, she said that they could accept us the next day at 230pm. As my husband and I are working full time, I asked her if by any chance they are open on Monday 10 October, which is also a Holiday, but wanted to find out because they were open that past Saturday as well - so just a question, I was told of course they won't be open on a Holiday. My response was I had to check with my husband as we work full-time to see which day we could take off and that I will call the agency back. At that time I was told there is no need for me to call back and I was hanged up on. First of all i was in shock not knowing what happened, and have tried to call back but kept getting hanged up calls. 2 seconds later I got an email into my mailbox saying that my child application has been deleted as he looks too similar to other kids blah blah blah.
As a professional institution, they lack everything else, but first the professionalism. I am now very glad that this happened, as I wouldn't put my child through an agency that doesn't know how to talk to people, yet to deal with children. Of course it is peoples choice to choose with whom they want to work, but this experience I had to share with other parents who are looking for a talent agency for their children, to know what they are getting into

They recieve a lot of applications every week and every single day. Let's face it, we are all biased and think our child(ten) are adorable. But modelling and acting is a business. It all depends on the type of work coming in, and what look these companies want. They only carry so many children of each age group and a spread of different looks. The week we applied to Minor Details for my daughter, they received almost 200 applications and they may be pick 1-2 out of all of those applications. It must have been a really bad time, Lee and her husband Brian actually own the company. It can't be an easy job to have to pick through all the photos.

It's a competitive business. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but I know many of us that have not. My daughter was picked up and she landed a major commercial for Advil almost right away. She's done a couple of flyers and is also on a yarn label for loops and threads at Michael's. She has done some big auditions recently and almost got them. It's not an easy industry, and you have to have patience. Also children between ages 2-3 don't tend to get much, if any work because they are too unpredictable as to tantrums etc. Beware of applying to anything like Gerber or The Cute Kid, they rip you off for the "chance" of winning money. Having an agent ensures you get paid work. All we ever paid was $56, that was it...they take a commission off the earnings. You also have to constantly update photos, children between the ages of 0-3 don't need professional head shots but 3+ do. My daughter has a blast doing these things. Anyways, now that my daughter is 3 she will have more opportunities for work. She was 6 months old when she did a commercial. Bottom line, talent agencies that work with children receive many applications...so your child may or may not be chosen and things can change. So don't be offended if your child is not picked up.

My story with Minor Details Modeling and Talent agency is an extremely positive one. My daughter has been with this agency for ten years now and has found success and become a member of ACTRA as a result of winning auditions for numerous commercials. She has also been booked for numerous modeling assignments. I have never had an issue in dealing with the owners or their staff. They have always been courteous and responsive and are constantly working to find my daughter bookings. My daughter has the personality and temperament for this industry, and that's very important. This is a business and Minor Details Modeling and Talent Agency is extremely experienced in knowing what casting houses are looking for in their talent. They are an incredibly knowledgeable Talent Agency and I would never consider using anyone else to represent my daughter. Georgia Tannis.

I just read the above complaint letter from a mother who wrote "As a professional institution, they lack everything else, but first the professionalism"

The mother's ramblings about her numerous scheduling calls back and forth without success would click in that maybe this was not the agency for her? Further her pretend consideration for other parents was a NASTY tactic because her child was rejected. Consider the ongoing hassle wth this mother's mindset if a booking for her child was involved? SERIOUSLY! This is back to the mother who said "blah blah blah". Best of luck to the child who's mother ".lacks" common sense!
